It is not very difficult; one item is about the subgenus of Acanthis, the other item is about the genus Acanthis. This is a wrong merge (as happens all the time with Widar). - Brya (talk) 08:50, 1 June 2014 (UTC)

Protecting RFD page is never a solution. Quick delete button to every deleted items would be nice to have... I don't personally even know how does the game works, so I don't know can we trust to all merges done with it. --Stryn (talk) 05:06, 30 May 2014 (UTC)

We certainly cannot trust all merges by the game. And posting comments or {{On hold}}s is hardly possible by edit conflicts. The quick delete button would allow however to delete an item without having to open a new tab. That would certainly be beneficial. Lymantria (talk) 07:10, 30 May 2014 (UTC)

How about making seperate deletion request pages for Wikigame, with a new page each day, or for a set amount of requests (say 200). That way you have no edit conflicts on the main deletion request page nor on the wikigame deletion request pages, while still maintaining a nice and clear overview. I think, limit the merge game is good idea. For example, one account can do 50 merges per day, after 50 merges, disable the merge game and wait for more lives in tomorrow. Also We have to add the delete function for admins in merge game.--DangSunM (talk) 23:41, 2 June 2014 (UTC)

Limiting is not the right solution. Why should you make it harder to minimize our duplicates? People are doing great work, don't annoy them with this. I agree that limiting isn't the best idea - the duplicates won't magically disappear. I think it's also sad that there is so much backlash against the game due to bad merges when a) the same argument seems to exist about merging without the game and b) from what I can tell, the error rate is incredibly low anyway. vandalism in good faith, or nothing to worry about?

Special:Contributions/118.19.0.152 put a lot of effort into adding claims of surname and removing claims of disambiguation page, or changing the descriptions from the one to the other. I think most of those were more disambiguation pages than pages about surnames, so I think our IP editor was wrong in many of their edits but I'm not sure. I think only Wiktionary deals with surnames properly, and WP just has disambiguation pages with small notes, but I'm biased ;) Haplology (talk) 12:31, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

MediaWiki:Group-sysop.js

Suddenly I had a deletion request counter in the top right corner of the interface. I was looking for the gadget to disable, but turned out that Ebraminio created the page MediaWiki:Group-sysop.js. I deleted this page because I don't like it and I think this should be discussed first. If you count the subsequent edits in the India item as one, then it's six vandalism edits from this IP in more than a year. So nothing we can't handle. It looks like a school IP to me, so it does not map to a single user. As long as there is no notorious vandal using it, we should keep it open to allow many other students and teachers editing Wikidata productively. --YMS (talk) 11:04, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

Unmerge an element

A Double Life (Q4656564) was merged with A Double Life (Q15865579). One of the films was the 1912 film and the other the 1924 film. Is it possible to undelete the second one and undid the merge? In this case, Dexbot created an item for a new Wikipedia article which was up for deletion. It should probably leave a bit more time for these articles to be properly vetted before automatically making items for them. Unless, of course, Dexbot goes back and deletes these.
