Bonjour, je pense qu'il serait utile d'avoir un outil pour ajouter de manière (semi-)automatique des descriptions standardisées quand aucune description plus précise n'est disponible (par exemple ajouter "commune de France" - ou "commune du Calvados" etc. en plein de langues à toutes les communes qui n'ont pas encore de description). J'ai commencé Wikidata:Automating descriptions mais je ne sais pas comment m'y prendre sur le plan technique. Je veut bien t'aider mais je suis encore en devellopement pour un traitement d'envoie de plusieurs données en même temps (ce qu'exige ton code pour être executer) car pour l'instant le script n'est pas capable de gerer plusieurs envoie en même temps, car le proceder que j'utilise est une requete envoyer par API en envoyant les données suivante pour modifier par exemple un label (format:json,action:wbsetlabel,id:/itemID/,summary:/lerésumé/,language:/lalang/,value:/label/,token:mw.user.tokens.get( 'editToken' )),donc ce "code" modifie que le label il faut donc refaire une requete avec l'action wbsetdescription pour que la description soit envoyer. Il existe bien un moyen d'envoyer plusieur changement à faire en utilisant ce proceder action=wbsetitem (documentation API) mais j'ai pour l'instant j'ai quelque probleme a le faire envoyer (surement a cause de la structure à envoyer qui est particulière : par exemple pour la page Q793 voir la synthaxe sous le format json(fm) RésultatAPI, il faut demander a l'API de supprimer les données inutiles puis envoyer le même format ) dès que j'aurais réussi à controler le problème je pourrais me reservir de cette fonction pour un envoi grouper de description et peut-être si tu le veut l'inserer à mon script. En tous cas je trouver ton idée très intéressante.(Si ça te dérange pas je mais une note après ce message pour ne pas oublier ce que je dois faire lorsque je mettrais en place ton idée :: Pensez à ajouter un input hidden avec la liste des langue dont la description existe pour les supprimer de la liste )--Jitrixis (talk) 16:30, 6 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
Ok merci. Il n'y aurait pas un moyen d'avoir par exemple un bouton "ajouter une description standard", qui ajouterait une description dans toutes les langues possibles ? Au cours d'une même modification, on ne modifierait que les descriptions, ou que les étiquettes mais pas les deux à la fois. Je ne sais pas comment cela se fait techniquement, mais il me semble que c'est ce que fait User:Tpt/slurpInterwiki.js pour les sitelinks. --Zolo (talk) 18:51, 6 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ca a l'air de très bien marcher ! Et merci de m'avoir nommé comme coauteur même si je n'ai pas écrit grand chose ! Un petite chose, je pense que si le nom de l'article se termine par quelque chose entre parenthèses, je pense qu'il ne faudrait pas l'inclure dans l'étiquette. Dans 99% des cas c'est une "désambiguation" (comme pt: (Fórmula 1) dans Q15127), normalement ça devrait faire partie de la description, pas du libellé. Et puis une idée pour la suite ;) ce serait peut-être de proposer de copier le label anglais dans une sélection de langues qui n'ont pas d'interwiki. Ca pourrait être utile pour les noms de personne, qui sont généralement les mêmes en français, anglais, allemand etc.

Oui j'ai essayé mais ça n'a pas l'air d'y changer grand chose... Pourtant c'est sans doute bien un problème de cache : en passant de Chrome à Firefox, ça marche.
Au fait, je viens de me rendre compte d'un petit problème. C'est très bien que les utilisateurs françophones voient "artiste hongrois" plutôt que "Hungarian artist". I notice that autoEdit will add zh, zh-cn, zh-hans, zh-hant labels using zhwiki interwiki. This will cause problems because there are two different writing systems in Chinese. Only zh label should be added automatically.
On the other hand, is it possible for labelLister to add function like this: When one variant is added manually, other variants will be added automatically in case they are blank.
The relationship between writing systems and variants are:
Simplified Chinese: zh-hans, zh-cn, zh-sg, zh-my
Traditional Chinese: zh-hant, zh-tw, zh-hk, zh-mo
For example, if zh-hans is added, then add zh-cn, zh-sg, zh-my automatically (same as zh-hans). Besides, zh can be added using either simplified or traditional Chinese.
I'm sorry if my explanation sucked. I know that there are no zh-hanswiki, zh-hantwiki, etc. Let me explain my two points in detail:
First - autoEdit.js problem
zh-hans, zh-hant and others are all in zhwiki. The problem is that article titles of zhwiki could use either Simplified Chinese (zh-hans) or Traditional Chinese (zh-hant). Take Q23114 as an example, the title in zhwiki is "鲁迅"(which is zh-hans). When I use autoEdit to add labels, it should only add zh-hans, zh-cn, zh-sg, zh-my labels (because these variants are Simplified Chinese). However, now autoEdit also wrongly add zh-hant, zh-hk, zh-tw, zh-mo labels at the same time (these are Traditional Chinese, which should be "魯迅" other than "鲁迅").
Because it may be difficult for machine to identify which titles are zh-hans and which titles are zh-hant, I suggest autoEdit only automatically add zh labels. In other words, code below in MediaWiki:Gadget-autoEdit.js should be removed.
Now when I use labelLister to add labels and descriptions of an item, I have to manually add labels and descriptions of many different variants. Take a look at the revision history of Q23114, you could see I added descriptions of zh-hans, zh-hant, zh-cn, zh-hk, zh-tw, zh-sg, zh-mo, zh-my respectively. It's surely wasteful duplication of work, because there are only two different descriptions (one in Simplified Chinese, the other in Traditional Chinese).
So, I would like to know if it is possible that I just need to add two variants (zh-hans and zh-hant), and let labelLister do remain works. That is to say, if I add zh-hans label and description of an item, then labelLister automatically add zh-cn, zh-sg, zh-my labels and descriptions. And if I add zh-hant label and description, then labelLister add zh-hk, zh-tw, zh-mo labels and descriptions for me. In this way, I will only need to add two variants instead of eight.
There should soon be a "fallback" mechanism so that when the "zh" text in provided but not "zh-hant", a "zh-hant" user will see the "zh" text. Since adding the same text for both all Chinese variants often results in faulty spelling, I think it would be better to only add the "zh" text with autoEdit. Beside, it might be possible to implement automatic conversion on Wikidata (just like on Wikipedia), or at least to have have bots make the conversion. --Zolo (talk) 14:30, 13 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
Le premier bonne idée mais du point de vue technique le script serais executer directement sns l'avis de l'utilisateur et entrainerais donc des latence de chargement de page mais aussi des bug si l'utilisateur change trop vite de page. Il y a peut-être une solution je regarderais ça.

J'ai vu que tu avais créé un filtre pour détecter les ajouts du modèle {{Delete}}. Sachant que l'on peut déjà savoir quelles pages incluent un modèle donné, a-t-on vraiment besoin de ce filtre ?
Je demande cela parce qu'il existe une limite maximale au nombre de conditions que l'on peut utiliser en cumulé dans tous les filtres. Aujourd'hui, ça ne gêne pas parce qu'il n'y a aucun filtre, mais le jour où on voudra détecter des erreurs et des vandalismes, il va falloir que l'on se contorsionne pour éviter cette limite ; et si d'ici là les gens se sont habitués à utiliser ton filtre, on risque d'avoir du mal à le sacrifier pour des filtres qui, eux, n'ont pas d'équivalent comme les pages liées.

de-formal has always the same label/description as normal de.
Actually the situation is, that you don't have any labels/descriptions if you switch your language in your preferences to de-formal, because quite nobody adds de-formal to the items.
de-formal is never needed as label. It will fallback to de after new wikidata version is live. It is an unnecessary and redundant information. de-formal is also not valid language code. It is only a different form of address to readers. Merlissimo (talk) 11:49, 27 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

When the tool "AutoEdit" adds the label of interwiki should do a little preliminary check. In fact, there are Spanish and Portuguese Wikipedias that have many articles in the namespace "Anexo" and Czech Wikipedia that has also itself several articles in the namespace "Příloha." The tool should not add the namespace in the label but only the simple name of the article (without namespace). Hi. Norwegian (no) consists of two "sub-languages": "nb" and "nn". In Wikipedia "no" and "nn" are used. In Wikidata it's "nb" and "nn". (Long story.) In MediaWiki:Gadget-autoEdit.js all code are between apostrophes ('en'), but in the phrase "Wikipedia disambiguation page" they are between quotation marks ("en"). Hi, if you want to keep all prefixe in label you must turn the "keep prefix in label" option to on, when this option is checked all new labels added by the script will keep the prefixe but if a label isn't empty the script will keep the previous label so if en/ca is already set without prefixe the script isn't allowed to reset it with the prefix. --Jitrixis (talk) 16:11, 18 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Je me permets de te contacter car tu as écrit le gadget autoEdit, qui permet notamment d'ajouter plusieurs descriptions en même temps. Serait-il possible d'en obtenir une variante (a priori à mon seul usage, mais qui pourrait être utile à d'autres), qui permette d'effectuer en un seul clic ce que j'ai fait ici ? J'aurais besoin d'un programme qui ajoute un libellé de mon choix dans une série de langues déterminée à l'avance, au lieu d'une seule langue à la fois. Est-ce réalisable ? Merci de ta réponse rapide. Il n'y a aucune urgence ! En effet je voudrais ajouter le même libellé en plusieurs langues. Ton croquis me va très bien. Si c'est possible, j'aimerais pouvoir définir à l'avance la liste des langues que je veux ajouter (ce sera les mêmes la plupart du temps), pour éviter de passer mon temps à cocher et décocher des cases. Je pige rien à cette page, et je pense que les excès de bureaucratie de Wikidata sont néfastes (je ne dis pas ça pour toi !). Dans le texte du script, il y a un gros bloc qui commence par

Yep I know that, I'm not a noob of that. I also made and improve script about deleting and listing label and desc of items. and that's the same issue for bot when there's update after they're publishing. I know that were're obliged to check if item are really empty and sometime it's not. And before deleting I check every page and see if there's a link or a statement. You just see that I deleting many item in few minutes but I see in bulk all the 75 pages then I delete the 75 item. So you can notice that there's big wait beetween bulk. I know that vandalism can be a fact but it's very difficult to know this because sometime there's only one item deleted. Regards --Jitrixis (talk) 01:28, 23 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Is there any way for the labellister gadget to be a bit more like the normal interface? It's really painful when I need to edit multiple languages to go through the three or four step process to edit each language's labels/descriptions. --Izno (talk) 22:06, 10 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello, for me its also not working. all looks normal first, but i can wait for more than 10 minutes and nothing happens. Only the label screen stays in front and it tells "nameGuzzler.js : Sending…" forever. Now that it doesn't work i know how much i got used to this great function! I really miss your tool, Jitrixis.
