Labels for en from zhwiki ? edit

Hi Kanashimi,

I noticed you are importing zh labels from zhwiki. I was wondering if you would be interested in doing the opposite:

There are few items that have English names (or names in Latin script) at zhwiki, but nothing but a zh-label at Wikidata (WD sample with zhwiki sample). I think it would make it easier to connect the articles to more content if the label was imported.

@Jura1: It's an interesting idea. I have add some codes on GitHub and will test them soon. Kanashimi (talk) 08:39, 13 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Let's see how it goes. This might be a list of candidates. BTW, sometimes the Chinese article includes what seems to be the preferred Romanization of the name. Is there a simple way to extract it?
--- Jura 10:52, 14 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Jura1: Thanks for your suggest. The task is still running. I'll try after it stop. Please wait for a few days. For "seems to be the preferred Romanization of the name," are there examples? Kanashimi (talk) 11:58, 14 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I started collecting samples today as I came across them looking for dates: Pak Lin (Q10430045) ("Pak Lin"), Mak Siu Ha (Q11175338) ("Mak Siu Ha"). As I don't read zh, you will have a better view of what it actually is.
Samples for English (and other names in Latin script): John Darroch (Q15938645), Carl Gustav, Prince Ysenburg and Büdingen in Büdingen (Q20063678), Otto Salm-Horstmar (Q20063139). I will list more if I find some.
--- Jura 12:14, 14 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Jura1: I see. There's no problem to extract the names. I'll try to add some more codes to do it. Kanashimi (talk) 12:21, 14 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Names in Latin script:

Transcription into Latin script:

A few more samples, in case you can use them.

Thank you. Sorry that I find I must detect if the article exists in the foreign wiki first, and I had already requested a new task on jawiki. So I postponed doing the task for one or two weeks. Please wait for some days. --Kanashimi (talk) 11:50, 20 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
No worries. Some of the items have been created years ago, so they can easily wait another year ;) Maybe the bot could use the variation of the query above to determine which items to scan.
--- Jura 12:58, 20 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
OK. Thank you. :) --Kanashimi (talk) 13:10, 20 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Jura1: I have re-scan the pages from zhwiki and jawiki, import the titles I can found from from lead section. There are still titles I can not parse or titles import into non-English. Please review the result and tell me if there are further issues, thank you. --Kanashimi (talk) 22:12, 18 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
Looks good. Most I checked were fine. Personally I had in mind mainly items for humans (Q5) without any labels in Latin scripts. It seems that it also adds aliases to items that already have labels. The edit summaries could be a bit more explicit. Ideally they would be similar to edit summaries for manual edits.
--- Jura 22:29, 18 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Jura1: May you give some examples for the recommend summaries? I think it is easy to make it better. --Kanashimi (talk) 22:39, 18 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
Maybe like the ones from Quickstatements on [1] (en alias, fr label). This could preeceed "import from zh:article name"

Thank you. :) --Kanashimi (talk) 22:50, 18 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

instance of (P31) edit

May I ask why you removed all the zh-* variants for labels and descriptions of instance of (P31)? There are often linguistic differences between Chinese used in different areas. --—Wylve (talk) 20:01, 7 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

I want to make the labels unified. And there is a "轉換拼寫" mechanism to transfer between different area. However, I have filled the labels again. Please tell me if there are still problems. --Kanashimi (talk) 23:43, 7 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Hi, I am not so concerned about zh-hans and zh-hant, but zh-cn, zh-hk, zh-mo, zh-my, zh-sg and zh-tw. I know that zhwiki has a mechanism for switching between different scripts, but that does not matter because the Wikipedias are not the only user of Wikidata. If a user is to ask what the Chinese name for an item is in Taiwan, then it would only be natural to refer him/her to the zh-tw label. Using a fallback system to zh means that the result of the query is only an assumption (as in we assume that the zh label would be identical to the zh-tw label). Even if the zh and zh-tw are indeed identical, I don't see the reason to remove the latter. It would be great if zhwiki can store all their 轉換拼寫 variations in Wikidata. Thanks. —Wylve (talk) 07:55, 8 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your concern. I have tried the at WP:SB. (I use Wikimedia project page (Q14204246)) It seems will fallback as:
(zh-hk, zh-mo, zh-tw) → zh-hant (→ zh?)
(zh-cn, zh-sg) → zh-hans (→ zh?)
no zh-my?
Please tell me if there are still problems, thank you. --Kanashimi (talk) 08:31, 8 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Hi, what I am trying to say is that even when you unify labels and those labels happen to be identical, it would be best if you put the same label in every zh-* rather than to delete all of them. —Wylve (talk) 08:44, 8 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
I will pay attention in the future. Thank you. --Kanashimi (talk) 08:54, 8 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! —Wylve (talk) 13:57, 8 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Additionally, why zh-cn? edit

@Kanashimi: If you bot adds Traditional as zh-hant by default, then why you're adding Simplified as zh-cn rather than general zh-hans? --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 06:07, 2 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Humm... It seems a good idea. I will try it. --Kanashimi (talk) 08:41, 2 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
And for the cases of proper nouns using language conversion, the bot will add to the corresponding language. I think the bot usually adding to zh-cn just because many language conversions specified this language. --Kanashimi (talk) 08:50, 2 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Q11496145 edit

Character entity references in aliases edit

This edit introduced a label that includes HTML code, because it extracted wiki markup from ja:ヒヤル. Ideally the label should have been turned into literal Arabic text. Do you know if this is a widespread issue? – Minh Nguyễn 💬 17:45, 14 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the report. This error was made by a early version and is fixed now. I will try to find out if there are still errors left and fix them. Please wait for some days. --Kanashimi (talk) 09:30, 15 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Bot improvements edit

Your bot is adding labels which include disambiguation information, e.g. Special:Diff/518108554, Special:Diff/518171014, Special:Diff/518101135, Special:Diff/518112793, Special:Diff/518120325. We don't include disambiguation information in labels, so that should be removed before adding the label. Most bots and gadgets remove any text in brackets at the end of the string.

It is also adding lists of labels/aliases, e.g. Special:Diff/518119072, Special:Diff/518115453, Special:Diff/518114838, Special:Diff/518112966, Special:Diff/518097120, Special:Diff/518098176, Special:Diff/518099333. This includes ones which contain characters not used by that language, e.g. Special:Diff/518116350, Special:Diff/518120126, Special:Diff/518104472, Special:Diff/518095824, Special:Diff/518090050, Special:Diff/518084253.

There are also some weird edits like Special:Diff/518117274 and Special:Diff/518070230.

You could avoid that:

  • Check that the script matches what the language uses. For example, English does not use Chinese characters, so a label which contains Chinese characters is probably wrong.
  • Check that the text does not contain list separators (commas, slashes, ampersands, words such as "and" or "or"...), brackets or other unusual punctuation.

Then if it does contain unexpected characters, don't add it unless someone has checked it.

- Nikki (talk) 15:43, 12 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

It seems the bot also follows redirects and that causes it to add incorrect aliases, e.g. Special:Diff/518087827 (Monika is a member of the group, not another name for the group), Special:Diff/518111343 (Inflatable is a track on the album, not another name for the album), Special:Diff/517352069 (green tea extract is something extracted from green tea, not another name for green tea). - Nikki (talk) 16:29, 12 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the advices of the task. I have modified the code to fix the bugs. For some errors due to inappropriate sources, I have modified the source wikitext. For example, It should be {{link-en|保羅·布奇|Paul Buckle|-{zh-hans:保罗·巴克; zh-hk:保羅·布奇;}-}} instead of {{link-en|-{zh-hans:保罗·巴克; zh-hk:保羅·布奇;}-|Paul Buckle}}. Kanashimi (talk) 10:04, 13 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • For the languages I can read, I think it works quite well (see discussion above). I think I removed one or two cases where it added the label in quotes as alias.

repeating wrong additions edit

Hi. Twice I have had to remove cewbot's additions to Q5417893 of English alias FSA. Latest [2]. It is inaccurate as the alias belongs to Q26196499. I am sure that you can understand the frustration when bots keep blindly repeating the same task when an item has been curated, and I hope that yo are able to find a solution. Thanks.

@Billinghurst: Thank you for the attention. I find that there are errors exist in the article w:zh:戴維·阿滕伯勒 and I fixed it so that the bot will not make this mistake again. --Kanashimi (talk) 08:11, 23 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Alleged alias in Q2061047 edit

The information in the Chinese wikipedia, on which your bot based this edit, is mistaken. The church is not called in Italian "Cattedrale di San Giuseppe". That was a mistake that has been corrected in the Italian and other wikipedias, but not yet in the Chinese. Please correct the Chinese article also. Theodoxa (talk) 13:00, 24 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

I have changed the name in the article zh:聖若瑟主教座堂 (阿斯馬拉) to Chiesa della Beata Vergine del Rosario. Please let me know if it is wrong. --Kanashimi (talk) 13:12, 24 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for removing the "alias". Unfortunately, I don't know Chinese. The name given to the church in that language remains as before, and Google Translate still gives its equivalents in Italian and English as Cattedrale di San Giuseppe and St. Joseph's Cathedral. Troubles in JAWP edit

Alias addition on Liv and Maddie edit

On the page for the Disney Channel comedy series Liv and Maddie, your bot keeps adding "Disney Channel" as an alias in Chinese. Disney Channel is not an alias for this series, it is the network that airs it. I've seen the bot do this before, so I came to inform you so you can get it to stop doing this, as it is incorrect. English label from Japanese/Korean infobox fields? edit

Hi Kanashimi,

When working on hospitals, I noticed that some of the infoboxes in jawiki had the English name in an infobox field. I imported quite a few of them. Sample: Q18336920.

Maybe something similar could be done for other infoboxes. I couldn't find a good sample with [4] though. The ones I checked already had an English label. The same seems possible with kowiki.

Maybe it's something you want to add to your bot's operations. --- Jura 08:49, 7 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the advice. It seems possible to do this task with bot. However, it should write a new one for these cases. --Kanashimi (talk) 10:37, 7 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Troubles of adding edition-dependent properties to works edit

This edit [5] claims that all editions of the novel have the same illustrator and same number of pages. That is not correct. Numbers of pages and illustrators are information about specific editions and should not be placed on the item for the work as a whole. --EncycloPetey (talk) 01:59, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

It looks to me that you are making this same mistake on many many items. Please check with Wikidata:WikiProject Books to understand how book items are handled on Wikidata. --EncycloPetey (talk) 02:01, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

@EncycloPetey: Thank you. Are there some samples if I only know it comes from jawiki? --Kanashimi (talk) 02:13, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
I don't understand you question. But please STOP your bot. It is making huge mistakes adding edition data to work data items. I made a correction, but the bot but the errors back. You have the responsibility to STOP your bot until the problems are corrected. --EncycloPetey (talk) 03:08, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
@EncycloPetey: OK. I stopped. --Kanashimi (talk) 03:09, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
@EncycloPetey: Sorry for the trouble. My question is, for example, w:ja:火星のプリンセス says that there are 326 pages. How can I input the information to wikidata? --Kanashimi (talk) 03:13, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
[edit conflict] You will also need to go back and UNDO most of the edits your bot made. They are wrong. You cannot add the information to Wikidata that you are trying to add.
Example: A Princess of Mars (Q475589) is the data item for the WORK (counting ALL editions) of A Princess of Mars. Because the data item is for all copies of the work ever printed, it cannot be a "hardback" or have a specific illustrator or a number of pages. This data item covers ALL editions at once, and each edition has a different format, a different illustrator, and a different number of pages. The data you want to add belongs on A Princess of Mars (Q55657589) which is the data item for the FIRST BOOK EDITION (in English). This is the edition that had Schoonover's illustrations and was a hardback. But there are other editions, and they have their own data items.
The same thing is true for all of the book information you have been adding. You have added it to the wrong data items in each case. The information about format, number of pages, ISBN, illustrator, belongs on a data item for that specific edition, and NOT on the data item for the work.
Again, it looks like your bot was not following the correct data model. You should UNDO all the edits you made, and learn the correct data model before trying to add any information about specific editions. --EncycloPetey (talk) 03:16, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
@EncycloPetey: Thank you. I import ISBN-10 (P957), ISBN-13 (P212), NACSIS-CAT bibliography ID (P1739), OCLC control number (P243), imported from Wikimedia project (P143), genre (P136), number of pages (P1104), language of work or name (P407), official website (P856), publication date (P577), instance of (P31), follows (P155), illustrator (P110), country of origin (P495), followed by (P156), publisher (P123), author (P50), translator (P655), name in kana (P1814), title (P1476) to wikidata now. Are all the properties not suitable to import, or some of them are OK to import? --Kanashimi (talk) 03:20, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
country of origin (P495) should be OK, but nearly all of the others CANNOT be added to the work, or have already been included. title (P1476) should be OK if you are adding a book that was originally in Japanese, but not for works that were translated into Japanese. genre (P136) is problematic ad WiiProject Books is having a discussion about the use of this property. I would not add anything except country of origin (P495) without first learning the data model for Wikidata. The basic question to ask before adding a piece of information to a WORK's data item is: "Will this information be true for ALL copies of the work that have ever been published, or ever will be published?" And for most of the items you've listed, the answer is "NO". --EncycloPetey (talk) 03:25, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
@EncycloPetey: I have read Wikidata:WikiProject Books, and I think a little bit understand what you mean. But I still have questions.
  1. I find that there is 'Pages' attribute and other edition-dependent properties on the wikipedia, for example, w:en:A Princess of Mars. If we link w:en:A Princess of Mars to A Princess of Mars (Q475589), and the two items are ACTUALLY different things, or different scopes; is this kind of situation properly?
  2. There are too many works without has edition or translation (P747). Should we create a first-edition-item for such works?
  3. If a work has just one has edition or translation (P747), is it proper to write the data mentioned above to this wikidata item?
  4. Even A Princess of Mars (Q475589) has image (P18). But I think if we can't locate other edition-dependent properties on meta-item, we also can't locate image (P18) on A Princess of Mars (Q475589). A workaround may be clearly pointed out the edition cited.
  5. There seems many works (not editions) with edition-dependent properties. Should we remove them all? --Kanashimi (talk) 04:21, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hi, on work you can usually find some data from the first edition :
  1. WP presents on one page the information of multiple edition. Ideally, this data can by entered on version, edition or translation (Q3331189) and WP can select them. Data from the first edition is tolerated on work, such as pages, image or publication date.
  2. yes, a version, edition or translation (Q3331189) should be created at least for the first edition.
  3. no, other edition should be created with there own version, edition or translation (Q3331189).
  4. not sure here.
  5. yes, but not before creating a version, edition or translation (Q3331189) with them.
It's what I think, I could be wrong :)
I delete the erroneous data on the items I follow, but you should delete them all as EncycloPetey says, the bot has even added hardback (Q193955) to film (Q11424) as here 1009830106eru [Talk] [french wiki] 08:29, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Eru: Thank you. For the case of Onimasa (Q3015390), the main description of jawiki includes original work (novel) and movie version. So I think the link between Onimasa (Q3015390) and w:ja:鬼龍院花子の生涯 is not proper. Perhaps we need to create three wikidata items - work (main item), novel edition, movie edition? But I think if we do this for all works, it will be huge loading. Moreover, items between different wikis will be broken. For example, maybe jawiki links to work (main item), other wikis links to movie edition, etc. --Kanashimi (talk) 09:02, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
If on jawiki the main subjet is the novel and then the adaptations, it's should be link to a literary work (Q7725634) with based on (P144)/derivative work (P4969), wikidata is stricter than wp.
The problem is the loss of interwiki link, but you can add them manually on jawiki, and create on jawiki a redirect page that link to Onimasa (Q3015390).
From time to time I create a redirection like this 909289911 on enwiki to have an interwiki on frwiki fr:Yan Solo et le Trésor de Ximeru [Talk] [french wiki] 09:21, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. A redirection seems a good trick. But for w:ja:鬼龍院花子の生涯, we should create a main-work-item, and when we link the w:ja:鬼龍院花子の生涯 to the main-work-item, the sitelink will be broken still... do you have a good solution for this situation? --Kanashimi (talk) 10:09, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
The Norwegian Wikisource was working on a technical solution, but I do not know whether it is used anywhere else yet. --EncycloPetey (talk) 16:27, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Please note that some of @Eru:'s responses above are incorrect, and some are current topics of discussion that have nor been resolved. For example, the number of pages for the first edition should be placed only on the data item for the first edition, not on the data item for the work. Where you see page numbers of the main data item, it is because someone from a Wikipedia uploaded them there, and should not have done this.
  1. Yes, Wikipedia articles are about the book, and do not usually distinguish between editions. But Wikidata has to distinguish between the book and its editions because Wikisource also uses the data here, and Wikisource can have more than one edition.
  2. The data model for Wikidata mean there should always be a data item for the work, and a second data item for the first edition. Major libraries around the world do this as well, and Wikidata must have a place to connect the data for the book and for its editions.
  3. See the answer to number 2 above.
  4. The image on the main data item represents the main data item. This is fine. The editions should have images for that edition, but the main data item should have a general item. This is fine.
  5. Yes, there is a lot of cleanup to do. As I said, many people have uploaded Wikipedia data incorrectly using bots, which adds lots of incorrect data quickly, but the cleanup is done manually most of the time, and so we accumulate bad data faster than we clean it up.
--EncycloPetey (talk) 16:25, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
If we have to create the first edition item, and move the edition data to the first edition item, perhaps I can let cewbot to do the task. How about this idea? --Kanashimi (talk) 20:39, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
If your bot can perform a check before creating the first edition item, this can be acceptable:
Check if one data of the set of data you want to add already exists in WD. For example, you have a set of data composed of ISBN-13 AND OCLC control number.
  • check if an item already has the ISBN-13 value.
  • If yes, you have the edition item you want.
  • Then check if that Qxxx item has the same value as in your data set for OCLC control number.
  • If yes, then add all your data to that Qxxx item.
  • If no, check if another item has the value for OCLC control number.
  • If another Qyyy item have that value, stop the upload process and mark your data as to be manually imported.
  • If no other item has the value for OCLC control number, then add all your data to that Qxxx item.
  • If yes, then the work item Qxxx is containing edition data. So you can create a new item for edition and upload your data in that new item with the creation of the link with the work item. A manual curation will be necessary to delete the duplicated data between the work item and the new edition item. This job should not be done by bot but manually to ensure that only the duplicated data will be deleted ( a work item can contain several ISBN-13 related to different editions).
  • If no, check if the Qxxx item is defined by instance of (P31):book (Q571).
  • If yes, stop the upload process and mark your data as to be manually imported after check of the item.
  • If no, stop the upload process and mark your data as to be manually imported after check of the item.
  • If no, check if an item already has the value for OCLC control number.
...
Good luck to write the code of your bot. Snipre (talk) 14:53, 9 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Excluding given name/family name items for Latin script aliases edit

Hi Kanashimi,

Good to see that your bot is still running. Just a minor tweak: would you exclude items for given names or family names from the additions of aliases?

Sample: [7][8].

There is a separate item for "Tomas" at Q1546318. If it didn't exist, it would eventually be created as we try to do items by native label and the "Thomas"-item shouldn't be used instead.

Checking for instance of (P31) =

should be sufficient. --- Jura 11:26, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the comments. I find Tomas in en:Name days in Sweden links to en:Thomas (name). Should it links to en:Tomas (given name)? --Kanashimi (talk) 22:39, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
It's really something for enwiki to decide. Here I think Q1546318#P1750 is correct. --- Jura 10:29, 12 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Cewbot violating the bot maxlag policy edit

Hey Kanashimi, your bot account User:Cewbot is currently violating the bot policy, as it runs at 70-80 edits/min while the maxlag parameter is way above 5. Can you please immediately make it comply with the policy? I would otherwise block it soon until you have implemented it properly. ---MisterSynergy (talk) 10:53, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

@MisterSynergy: Sure. In fact, I had run at 5s/edit at first of test edit, but I find that there are too many edits to do. If I do not speedy the task, I may run too long. Are there any good solution for this case? --Kanashimi (talk) 11:10, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Well, the bot policy requires you to stop automated editing while maxlag>5, and there is nothing you can do to speed up thing in these phases. Server capacities at Wikidata are unfortunately limited, thus we need to make sure that all users are able to get their fair share.
Properly implemented bots (read: bot frameworks) do respect the maxlag parameter automatically, which means that you just start the task once, and the framework manages the stop-and-go behavior in compliance with the bot policy. Which framework do you use? ---MisterSynergy (talk) 11:15, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
I have set the limit back. --Kanashimi (talk) 11:19, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Okay thanks. As much as I understand the frustration that batches take a lot of time: don't ever change it back to "ignore" (or values larger than maxlag=5). We are monitoring this quite often these days, as server overload happens way too often and this is indeed related to the large overall amount of edits here. ---MisterSynergy (talk) 11:23, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
I got it. --Kanashimi (talk) 11:27, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Kanashimi:, seems to still be doing edit, albeit much less, see https://grafana.wikimedia.org/d/000000170/wikidata-edits?orgId=1&from=1590336801846&to=1590338175195 and https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q2224676&curid=2148470&diff=1189087095&oldid=1171812427 . Could you double check that your commit do work as intended ? --Misc (talk) 16:40, 24 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Misc: Thank you for report. I have check the edits and it seems the bot edits in a interval of 5 seconds. But it seems there are other bots editing on high speed much more than cewbot at that time 1 2. Maybe it is not only the cewbot caused this situation? However, I may stop the task if need. Please let me know if the situation is difficult and we must stop it. --Kanashimi (talk) 21:53, 24 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
I do not think cewbot is causing trouble, that's clearly another bot for sure given the edit rate at that time (and I notified the owner). It just that given your bot behavior who differ from most others bots, I suspect there is a different behavior, coming either from different config, or different code. It look like others bot do interpret maxlag differently, and stop once maxlag is > 5. Not sure if that's because everybody use default setting of pywikibot, or something else. --Misc (talk) 12:31, 25 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Misc: Thank you for the explanation. Since pywikibot using maxlag = 5s, I will respect maxlag = 5s instead of edit_time_interval = 5s from now on. Sorry for causing these troubles. Please tell me if there are still issues. --Kanashimi (talk) 20:20, 25 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Hjart: Sorry for the fault. The error is due to bad link in zh:漢莎號飛船 and I have fixed it. --Kanashimi (talk) 07:13, 23 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

It is due to the bad link in zh:男朋友 (電視劇). I have fixed it, and the error will not happen again. In some cases, the link in zhwiki mentioned the name in english. Because the parameter of interlanguage link template must match the link in enwiki precisely, or it will not work, so I think it is trustworthy for the link. To me, trouble with Cewbot sources does'nt appear all that much worse than a lot of other things I've seen. @Sänger: Thank you for finding the editing on Q10943. Without your reporting, I can not aware that there is a bad link in zh:男朋友 (電視劇). So I can improve wikipedia. The bot makes millions edits, I can not say all the edits are right. But I try my best to fix all bad edits, as you seeing above. And thankfully, it seems not too many, and all the edits are all basic on corresponding contents on wikipedia, I think the best way is to fix the links on wikipedia, not ignore them. Maybe I can add some comments on edit summary to tell every unsatisfactory editors? My English is not good, do you have good idea? --Kanashimi (talk) 21:31, 29 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Blood is not the same as BloodPop. Please stop adding it in as an en-alias in Wikidata edit

This addition by your bot has been reverted already once before and the bot added it back in. They are correctly linked to Wikidata from the zhwiki, so I don't understand why the bot is still adding it to the wrong item. -Yupik (talk) 07:23, 12 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for report. The error is due to bad link in zh:我的決心 and I have fixed it. --Kanashimi (talk) 08:28, 12 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
If your sometimes vandalising bot is reverted once, why do you ignore this? Why do you let it vandalise the items again? Invent some safeguard against such vandalism, or stop the bot in any other language but zh. Grüße vom Sänger ♫ (talk) 09:13, 13 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. It is a good idea to detect if the label is added before. But since the huge amount (400K items), I think it is too expensive to query all edit history for each item. I will try the idea mentioned above, to add some comments on edit summary to tell every unsatisfactory editors. And, I think we should find the errors (on wikipedia) and fix them, instead of ignore the errors. --Kanashimi (talk) 09:34, 13 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Done The bot will add a link to explanation next time. --Kanashimi (talk) 10:04, 13 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Not done As you said: There are far too much items, to conntrol everything, thus you have to be far more careful to run the bot. Simply stop adding anything to any other line but zh, that's the least harmful solution. And definitely never ever let him revert a revert. Unless you can't guarantee this, the bot must not edit anywhere outside the zh-lines Grüße vom Sänger ♫ (talk) 10:44, 13 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Stop adding aliases from ill(interlanguage link) templates edit

For example sweet and sour (Q104383007) revs April 11,2021 imported from ja.wikipedia by Cewbot. These words in ja.wikipedia are mere transcriptions of English, or copied Chinese words, not Japanese words. Wikipedians use ill(interlanguage link) very casually, so these words can not be automatically treated as an example in any language. There is no hope they can be, no matter how much tweak, and manually finding and correcting the mess is plain overburden for human beings. As have been already demanded from numerous editors before, please just stop adding any aliases. --Wotheina (talk) 03:28, 12 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for attention on the issue. I still think if there are bad interlanguage links, what we should do is correct it, not just leave it alone. However, I know there are many different options of this. I open a RfC for this. Please give some comments there, thank you. --Kanashimi (talk) 05:03, 12 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

How is it determining alias pairs? edit

I'll open a separate topic because it is a bit technical. Here: Revision as of 04:53, 22 June 2020 "giraffe (Q862089)", Cewbot injected 長頸鹿 again, despite of promised repariment in User talk:Kanashimi/Archive 1#Cewbot add wrong aliases. Tell us how does the bot determine 長頸鹿 and キリン must be synonymous in this example? Is it deduced from the 長頸鹿, like this?

  1. the piped "長頸鹿" has no language qualfier, so it is "must be" a Japanese term
  2. the words are piped, so they must be synonyms
  3. :zh:长颈鹿 is currently bound to wikidata giraffe (Q862089)
  4. therefore, "長頸鹿" must be a Japanese alias in giraffe (Q862089)

--Wotheina (talk) 14:26, 12 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for trace and help to debug. In this case, yes, it is because the 長頸鹿. I once tried to fix it. If the link appears as 长颈鹿, the bot will not mistake the meaning. But it changed back to 長頸鹿. Since the sentence of ko do not use link, I remove it. This is very few usages that cause confusion. In my option, this is incorrect usage of wikilink. Just as other bad 仮リンクs, need to be fixed. If we insist on using link in this case, we can append it as reference: , or use Chinese version of w:ja:Template:Enlink instead. And even I do not import as alias as you recommended, we cannot prevent this kind of errors. --Kanashimi (talk) 21:18, 12 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Stop your bot immediately edit

Since your bot is clearly broken, I suggest you stop it immediately. Here you have added incorrect alias for English from Japanese Wikipedia, the bot returns these aliases even after revert (see [12], [13], [14], [15]). I don't know why you keep importing capitalized aliases from Japanese Wikipedia even after dozens of warnings, but your import is clearly incorrect, see Help:Aliases. On your talk page, I see different users who have already warned you about incorrect imports and it seems that nothing has changed, so at this point, if for some reason you do not want to fix your bot, I suggest you stop it, otherwise it would be appropriate to require administrators to block your bot. Sorry for the trouble. It is caused by the wrong interlanguage link in w:ja:PlayStation 5のゲームタイトル一覧 (you may get the link from summary) and I have fix it just now so the error will not appear again. About this task, please leave your comment at Wikidata:Requests for comment/Is it worth to import labels from interlanguage links of other wikipedia projects to wikidata, thank you. Kanashimi (talk) 11:04, 6 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Personally I have nothing against Japanese Wikipedia. You can continue to import labels and aliases from there, however, you should configure your bot to only recognize aliases that match the Wikidata project guidelines, i.e. you shouldn't pick up capitalized aliases, like this one and attribute them to English aliases. I see that you have fixed the problem for this item, thank you, howewer your bot's code has not been changed yet, so it will still continue to add uppercase aliases for other items anyway (example: added recently) ... As far as I can see from this list, there are dozens of such aliases, so your bot needs to be fixed as I have no idea where else it might add other capitalized aliases. To be honest, I don't understand why on ja.wiki various names are capitalized, perhaps because they have their own guidelines for naming articles, I don't know, but those names should not be included here on Wikidata, see Help:Aliases and Help:Labels. That's it. Regards Kirilloparma (talk) 14:49, 6 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your comment. The link must exactly point to the target, so this is a mistake in anyway. About your concern, I have modify the code so the bot should not append the alias when the alias is the same with label after lower cased. Kanashimi (talk) 21:24, 6 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Problem is still there edit

Hello. Sorry for the late response. Thank you for fixing your bot's code last time, however it looks like it's still not fixed. Your bot for some reason keeps adding incorrect aliases (see [16]). Could you try to fix the code again, or at least temporarily stop the bot so that it can be fixed? Regards Kirilloparma (talk) 18:54, 21 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Importing aliases from interlanguage links edit

Hi. I know this is an old issue, and see that you opened an RfC in April, but since it seems rather stale I thought I'd raise it here.

I've had to repeatedly revert (see Special:History/Q1996947) Cewbot's additions of the "Thunder Dome" alias to IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani (Q1996947), since Thunder Dome (Q30339185) is a separate stadium that is not part of the Impact complex (though it's often misunderstood to be). I've followed the links in the bot's edit summaries to remove the templates, but the bot seems to keep finding new ones. Strangely, it also continues to cite zh:Stray Kids as one of the sources, even though I removed the link on that page on 20 October.

I think this case is a good example of problems with the task's conception. People often add interlanguage links to tangentially related topics, and this isn't incorrect in itself, as this is equivalent to using piped links to link to related topics. But it doesn't mean such piped terms are valid aliases, especially when they are already represented by separate Wikidata items. --Paul 012 (talk) 17:12, 6 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for fixing these links. I think this is because that Thunder Dome, Muang Thong Thani (Q30339185) is inside IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani (Q1996947). Especially even the thwiki link of Thunder Dome, Muang Thong Thani (Q30339185) is redirecting to IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani (Q1996947), and there is another red link th:ธันเดอร์โดม in th:ศูนย์แสดงสินค้าและการประชุม อิมแพ็ค เมืองทองธานี. So I think the best solution is to create an article in thwiki so we can link to it. However, when there is not an article exists, all bad links should be removed as you do. In order to prevent later people from not knowing this situation, I described it in more detail. Kanashimi (talk) 20:48, 6 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

English aliases edit

Your bot has added several English aliases based on a template on the Chinese Wikipedia. When and where was this process approved? I can only find a BRFA about Chinese and Japanese labels. --PhiH (talk) 13:06, 8 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi. The task is using the data of interwiki links to update the labels on wiki, so the language depend on what language the links points to. I guess your main concern is the bot doing something wrong. Please tell me what mistakes the bot made, and I will try to fix them, thank you. And maybe you are interesting join to Wikidata:Requests for comment/Is it worth to import labels from interlanguage links of other wikipedia projects to wikidata. Kanashimi (talk) 22:13, 8 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'm concerned about a your bot executing a task that was never approved by the community and that I can't make any sense of. The idea of adding aliases in Chinese and Japanese from these templates makes sense to me but I don't understand how you could get an English alias from there. Sure, I stumbled across this issue after this edit (which was incorrect) but I don't understand how you could get an alias in a different language at all. There are three parameters in zh:Template:link-de:
  1. The link to the Chinese article that doesn't exist yet
  2. The link to a different Wiki, in this case the German one
  3. The text displayed, for a piped link
None of these parameters provide an alias in a language other than Chinese. I don't understand how you intend to use this. --PhiH (talk) 13:01, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
The problem we had before the bot added them was that some people with Latin script names were described in jawiki, but the item didn't have the information (the sitelink being to a Japanese language title). The bot remedied this situation. --- Jura 13:09, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the reporting. The article is translated from dewiki, and the link expression should be ZUB 121. I just fixed it. The original link text is ZUB, it is wrong, means de:Zugbeeinflussung should link to zh:ZUB. Since these are latin alphabets, the bot treat it as English. English abbreviations are something very common in Chinese and Japanese. After all, this is a wrong alias caused by the interwiki link that need to fix. Thank you for your attention so we can improve wikipedia. Kanashimi (talk) 13:43, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, but that still doesn't explain how this task is supposed to work. In this particular case, there was an issue with the article that caused the wrong edit, that's not what why I came here. How does the bot conclude that something is an English alias in general? Piped links can be used in various ways and if they are the basis for these edits, this task does more harm than good. --PhiH (talk) 18:07, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
You are right. I have modify the code, so the bot will not import alias in this kind of cases. Kanashimi (talk) 21:18, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

How are you picking up Japanese aliases for a Wikidata item that isn't sitelinked to a Japanese Wikipedia article? edit

Please look at the history of this Wikidata item. The Wikidata item is about a barangay (like a village) in the Philippines, but your bot keeps on adding a Japanese label of the island where the village is located to the Wikidata item. PubMed bot edit

Currently, your bot processes ~1550 PubMed ids each day and made 34-90 edits for each item. At the current speeed it will require more than 20000 days (about 54 years) to proceed all PubMed IDs. Please squash all edits of an item to one single edit. This will allow all IDs to be proceeded in only 400-500 days. You still may not make more than 90 edits each minute.

Other notes:

  • There are recently imported articles from other sources, with DOI but not PubMed ID. Before importing from PubMed/PMC please check whether such items exist. (and some such items may be imported with a lower-case DOI; while there are bots correcting them, they may not be found before fixed if case sensitive search is used.) Also, duplicate articles (with same DOI and title) may exist in PubMed/PMC and thus an item may have more than one IDs.
  • If an author have ORCID not found in Wikidata a new item may be created. But before that please check whether the ORCID is valid (to prevent constraint violations).
  • Same for journals not found in Wikidata (especially if new articles are imported).

--GZWDer (talk) 21:36, 17 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Note also KrBot does sometimes processes some cleanup: removing dots from labels (including a few ones like nl/ast that is copied from English) and title (P1476); and merging items with duplicated DOI and titles. Note once title is fixed some items like Cytochemical localization of adenylate cyclase and 3′,5′-nucleotide phosphodiesterase in Dictyostelium (Q39932255) will have multiple title (P1476) that is same (case insensitive) and only one should be preserved.--GZWDer (talk) 21:46, 17 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your comments, I will modify the bot code. About merging all the requests into one, this involves a change in the underlying code mechanism. In particular, sometimes the original attributes must be removed, or be ranked. I will modify and test this part of the code before updating it. I might start by merging some queries, which should reduce requests.
  • About DOI, I tried this method, but it is too slow. So I have to back off and search for all-caps or all-lowercase. I am not proficient in SPARQL, do you have any good suggestions?
SELECT DISTINCT ?item ?itemLabel
WHERE {
	?item wdt:P356 ?doi.
	FILTER (UCASE(?doi) = "10.1016/0014-4827(75)90138-X").
	SERVICE wikibase:label { bd:serviceParam wikibase:language "[AUTO_LANGUAGE],en". }
}
Try it!
  • When multiple duplicate items are found, the robot will skip the PubMed ID.
  • When organizing authors, the bot will first check if the ORCID exists. If the bot is going to create new author items in the future, it will also first check if the ORCID exists.
  • For journals that cannot be found, the bot will simply skip the journal without adding it.
  • For duplicate titles, I'm going to let the bot delete the "." at the end. About title normalization, sometimes there are symbols that get in the way. For example, in the case of Cytochemical localization of adenylate cyclase and 3′,5′-nucleotide phosphodiesterase in Dictyostelium (Q39932255), perhaps we prefer "'" when searching, but the more formal title seems to use "′". (The two are not identical in Unicode). Do you have any suggestions for this part?
Kanashimi (talk) 00:57, 18 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • You can get item from DOI using the search API (case insensitive) which have the same effect to do so in the search box. Note 1. please recheck the results as punctuations are ignored in search; 2. The API may return error if it is too busy (check if there are batchcomplete). Also there are bots fixing the items so only a small number of newly created items have lower-case DOIs.
  • In any case do not add another title statement (especially if the two titles are identical if all non-letters are removed). If the existing title value ends with dot it should still be fixed. GZWDer (talk) 18:07, 18 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Also personally I don't think it is a good idea to add qualifiers (other than series ordinal (P1545)) to cites work (P2860) as the same information already exists at the target item. GZWDer (talk) 18:12, 18 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
PS: See here if you want to change multiple things in one edit. GZWDer (talk) 20:31, 18 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much for your comments. It doesn't seem like a good idea to import "'" and "′" at the same time. Would it be better to use "′" (and other symbols like this case) instead of the more easily searchable "'"? Kanashimi (talk) 21:51, 18 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

In this case it was an error at zh:跨Wiki链接, it should be fixed now. Regardless of that, even if the template on that page was correctly used, it still wouldn't make sense to add this alias. On descriptions for scientific articles in Ukrainian edit

Hi, Kanashimi. Your bot Cewbot adds descriptions for scientific articles in Ukrainian like this: "наукова стаття опублікована 7 серпня 1976 р." (Neurologic disorders responsive to folic acid therapy (Q24680377)). The issue of these descriptions was discussed in the Ukrainian Wikipedia here.

As a result of the discussion, it was decided to give the description as "наукова стаття, опублікована 7 серпня 1976" (with a comma and without " р."). See also here.

I plan to make the appropriate substitutions in Wikidata. With best regards --Renamerr (talk) 10:21, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Citations to journals rather than articles edit

Hi @Kanashimi I've just noticed some odd things on items Cewbot added. For example, Cladistic analysis of ribosomal RNAs — the phylogeny of eukaryotes with respect to the endosymbiotic theory (Q41439281) includes a citation to Zeitschrift fur Mykologie (Q27714299) (citation number 9). I assume that this is intended to represent a citation to an item that doesn't exist in Wikidata and doesn't have a DOI?

I understand the desire to add these, but can I suggest that this is not the best way to do it? It implies that the article cites a journal rather than an article in the journal (the same thing happens for Bulleromyces genus novum (Tremellales), a teleomorph for Bullera alba, and the occurrence of mating in Bullera variabilis (Q31158621)). Perhaps the solution is to use placeholder for "somevalue" (Q53569537) and have the journal as another qualifier. I experimented with something similar here: Ridleyandra merohmerea (Gesneriaceae), a new species from Kelantan, Peninsular Malaysia (Q42258926). I think this better captures what you are modelling - we have a citation that isn't in Wikidata but we want to add it in the hope that one day someone will add it. This is, in fact, how stumbled across this issue because I am looking to add all the articles for Zeitschrift fur Mykologie (Q27714299) to Wikidata. Rdmpage (talk) 09:46, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Can you do a demo edit on Cladistic analysis of ribosomal RNAs — the phylogeny of eukaryotes with respect to the endosymbiotic theory (Q41439281)? In addition, since Crossref does not provide a paper title, the robot cannot fill in the title when editing. Kanashimi (talk) 11:28, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Disabling Cewbot on certain pages edit

Since there's probably no way to stop editors from keeping adding incorrect interlanguage links, is there a way to add the nobots flag or something to disable Cewbot from editing certain pages, like IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani? Or maybe better but more complicated, could it perhaps check properties such as different from and has part(s) to see if the aliases it's trying to add already belong to those other items, and not add them if so? I.e., in this case, IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani is different from Thunder Dome, Muang Thong Thani, so the bot should not add Thunder Dome and Thunder Dome, Muang Thong Thani as aliases for IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani, as it has repeatedly done. --Paul_012 (talk) 22:20, 14 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

I understand that you often feel frustrated with dealing with this issue. However, I think this is an opportunity for us to correct our mistakes. The error occurred in zh:ATEEZ, which I have already corrected. I think the bot just provided a warning to indicate that we did not distinguish them clearly. If I'm not mistaken, the th:ศูนย์แสดงสินค้าและการประชุม อิมแพ็ค เมืองทองธานี (exhibition center) is divided into th:อิมแพ็ค อารีน่า เมืองทองธานี (IMPACT Arena, Muang Thong Thani) and th:ธันเดอร์โดม (Thunder Dome, Muang Thong Thani)? However, as you can see, there is already ambiguity in the entry like nl:Impact Arena, which may have made an incorrect description. I think a big problem is that th:ธันเดอร์โดม has not been created yet, but it has been used as a venue for many (Korean celebrity) concerts, which has caused confusion for many people. Maybe I'm also mistaken, because I'm not familiar with these venues either. I think the fundamental solution is to create th:ธันเดอร์โดม, and clearly explain the differences and indicate the various aliases of these locations in the English and Thai entries, so that editors won't be confused. This way, there is no need to make special arrangements, and you will no longer be troubled by these issues. Kanashimi (talk) 01:10, 15 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Cewbot is converting "比特" to "位元" when importing labels/aliases edit

I first noticed this at Sean Bobbitt (Q766802). Then it came to me that this could be a general mistake. For example, See Traditional Chinese labels of Bettye LaVette (Q453456) and Bitlis Vilayet (Q1587075). Or try typing "位元" in the search box. GnolizX (talk) 07:11, 16 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. It seems you simply added the aliases to the correct Wikidata items. Is that enough to prevent the bot making further additions, without modifying the template links on zhwiki? --Paul_012 (talk) 01:10, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Apparently not, as the bot is still making these edits. What needs to be done seems to be fixing the Zhwiki articles, e.g. in the zh:X JAPAN article, IMPACT展覽館 needs to be corrected to IMPACT展覽館, if there is such a template. I'm not familiar with the Chinese Wikipedia and would appreciate if you could look into this. Thank you. --Paul_012 (talk) 12:39, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
About "Impact體育館", I fixed w:zh:2022年湯姆斯盃, w:zh:2022年優霸盃. About "Thunder Dome" and "Thunder Dome, Muang Thong Thani", I fixed w:zh:SYNK : HYPER LINE, w:zh:Aespa演唱會列表, w:zh:TXT演唱會作品列表. Hope this eliminates the editing error. Kanashimi (talk) 21:40, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ah, I made a mistake and picked the wrong example, but thank you. --Paul_012 (talk) 17:02, 31 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Guernica (Q26981426) edit

Please, check the nonsense addition in alias. Thanks. Madamebiblio (talk) 16:44, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much. I have fixed the source. Kanashimi (talk) 22:10, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Kanashimi Please check again. Madamebiblio (talk) 18:01, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
I guess the program was already running when I last modified it and got the wrong data. Please wait until next time to run it. Kanashimi (talk) 21:07, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Article cites a person!? edit

Hi, I noticed this edit https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q41072923&diff=prev&oldid=1873822412 where Cewbot adds a citation link that is to a person Matthias Numsen Blytt (Q2037491) rather than a publication. I presume this is an error, are you able to fix it? Is this sort of error likely to have happened anywhere else? Rdmpage (talk) 18:49, 23 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your report. This was a mistake. I have strengthened the robot's audit condition to avoid similar problems in the future. Kanashimi (talk) 22:15, 23 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

About "Akira Toriyama" (Q208582) edit

Hello,
In Akira Toriyama (Q208582), Cewbot is adding "BIRD STUDIO" as an English alias of Akira Toriyama, importing it from zh:最强Jump. But I think that zh:最强Jump does not really says "BIRD STUDIO = English alias of Akira Toriyama".

Thank you for your report. I cannot reproduce the problem at the moment, so I may have to take another look at it. Please let me know if this problem persists, thank you. Kanashimi (talk) 23:21, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
The additions by the bot are : 24 June 2020, 18 December 2020, 11 April 2021, 11 August 2022, 19 October 2023, 15 November 2023. zh:最强Jump did not change much since 24 June 2020. --NicoScribe (talk) 21:48, 16 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I have observed this problem. I deleted the cache and hope this will solve the problem. Kanashimi (talk) 22:37, 16 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

MUD (Q751424) - new Japanese alias edit

Hello, Cewbot added a new Japanese alias for MUD. This alias is ニック・ガモン, resolving to Nick Gammon. I'm assuming it's based on the fact that Nick Gammon on the English Wikipedia redirects to w:en:Multi-user dungeon (MUD). However, this redirect is probably set up because this person had something to do with the history of MUDs, not because it's another word for MUD. So I have removed this alias. --Sanqui (talk) 10:46, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

I fixed the link. I think we may have to change w:en:Nick Gammon to a disambiguation page. Kanashimi (talk) 12:31, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'm afraid it happened again. I'm not sure how to fix the English Wikipedia page other than requesting deletion for it... --Sanqui (talk)
I cleared the cache to see if that was the problem. --Kanashimi (talk) 21:40, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please disable adding wrong alias by Cewbot edit

Please disable adding wrong alias by Cewbot. Cewbot has continued same edit at Q113758420. could you please check the activity of your bot? Mariobanana (talk) 13:39, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

This error was caused by a previous unrelated link, which has now been fixed. I've removed the catch and hopefully fixed the error. Kanashimi (talk) 21:54, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I think the problem have been fixed, I'll revert in the belief that Cewbot will not repeat the same edits again.
Thank you. Mariobanana (talk) 11:47, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your trust. Feel free to report back anytime you have a question and I'll check to see what the problem is. Kanashimi (talk) 11:50, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

 UTF error edit

Hi Kanashimi,

some of your imported articles like A case of testicular feminization with the karyotype 47, XXY (author's transl) (Q67435361) have problems with umlaut (Q160093) in their original language (de).-- Tadarrius Bean (talk) 16:38, 16 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

It looks like the source of the information is already in trouble. I will avoid importing such titles in the future. Kanashimi (talk) 23:15, 16 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok, thanks.--Tadarrius Bean (talk) 08:22, 17 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
