  • To give this section some life, since the development team had their holidays last week meaning nothing really got done (let them have one week off at least), I'll say a few words. 2014 is a new year and thus a new start, over the last year Wikidata celebrated its first birthday which brought reflection over what Wikidata had accomplish. Therefore I want to use the start of 2014 to reflect what Wikidata can do. For my personal over view see this page. For the summary, while it is meant to be a weekly simple update, I feel this can be used a lot more effective to put across not only what happened on Wikidata but things about Wikidata on other wikis, I am hoping to start a section over this within the next few weeks. Wikisource-texts

It looks like you have connected some items with Wikisource. Have you read Wikidata:Wikisource? It does not look like I would have expected in for example Edda (Q108652). The different Wikisource-versions are not supposed to be in the same item. -- Lavallen (talk) 18:29, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

What did you read? Categories, templates, Author-pages and some others are free to set like that but:

"table of content pages that are the entry points for texts. They should be linked with the edition items in Wikidata that has all the metadata about this specific edition of the text".

Therefor texts are normally not in the same item as the Wikipedia-article about it. The Swedish, Dutch and Whatever texts are not the same edition. They do not have the same metadata (not the same Author, Publication date etc). By following the two edition-properties, we will in the future be able to create interwiki between the different editions, but we are not there yet. Then, we will also be able to link interwiki between editions that are not 1:1. -- Lavallen (talk) 08:03, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Oke, I leave those alone. Still I think it is strange. For multiple reasons, but one is that now we aren't able to use the interwiki's added to Wikidata in Wikipedia to link to the Wikisource page. Also again I get the feeling Wikidata is only implemented half, on Wikisource but elsewhere too. Romaine (talk) 18:31, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

It's solvable, by some software following the "edition" and "edition of"-properties, but we are not there yet. Until then, we can keep the interwiki between the wikisource subdomains locally. -- Lavallen (talk) 18:39, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

(edit conflict) Romaine, I understand your feelings: I also got disappointed when I learnt that texts would have been left for Phase 2 of Wikidata. :( But, with the solution which has been promised us, we will have more than just an interwiki link: we will have additional information about the edition of the text (year, place, name of translator...), which will be very useful because we have many different versions of the same text, and currently it's not possible to differentiate one from the other. So we'll have to wait, but in return we'll get something better suiting our needs. At least this is what they promised :D And I hope a solution will be devised also for links Wikipedia -> Wikisource, in theory it should not be difficult. Hi, Ik kom er even niet uit hoe ik een item moet hernoemen. Francisco Corzas Chávez (Q15992848) heeft geen correcte naam. dit is namelijk de volledige naam van een Mexicaanse schilder, hier op wikidata bekend als Francisco Corzas (Q595191). Ik heb het artikel op en.wikipedia al hernoemd naar Francisco Chavez. Nu moet alleen de naam hier op wikidata nog aangepast worden naar Francisco Chavez, of beter nog Frank Chavez (de naam die hij in het dagelijks gebruik hanteerde). Hoi Romaine, ik was hier om mijn artikel Athos op Wikivoyage toe te voegen. Een paar vragen: Koppelt het nu ook aan het Wikipedia-artikel? Zo niet, is het in de toekomst de bedoeling dat dat wel gebeurd? En doet Wikibooks niet mee? Sorry voor deze nick, die is niet om verwarring te zaaien, maar ik had beter moeten nadenken dat Mark-65 geen SUL account is. Erg onhandig achteraf maar ik wil niet weer veranderen zo snel. Hallo For old times' sake, Als je een link naar een artikel op Wikivoyage toevoegt aan een item, wordt deze link niet op Wikipedia ook toegevoegd. Dat is nog steeds handwerk. Op nl-wiki is het de gewoonte om een dergelijke link toe te voegen door middel van een sjabloon. Sowieso is de deelname van projecten dat gefaseerd wordt uitgevoerd, Wikiquote is het meest recent toegevoegd. Op dit moment is er nog geen pagina voor de toevoeging van Wikibooks aan Wikidata, er lijkt dus nog geen plan voor te zijn. Komt wellicht ooit nog wel denk ik.
