Missing ID edit

@Jean-Frédéric: I created User:Multichill/Tate painters missing id to find painters in need of a Tate identifier. Multichill (talk) 18:11, 12 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

New website, broken links edit

On it! ;-) Multichill (talk) 17:54, 6 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Circular references edit

Now that the tate.org.uk/art/artists pages lead almost exclusively to English Wikipedia, wouldn't it be wiser to revert to a name search (which finds a lot more)?

search?q=FirstName+Surname (many search results)
art/artists/firstName-lastName-kabal# (few results + circular references to en.wp)

It's also worth noting that this is being used on fr.wp in the template Modules:Bases art in line 156: {"Tate", "P2741", "http://www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/$1"},

Data or Formatter URL edit

Hello. The URL generated for this property (https://www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/$1) is no longer valid. For instance https://www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/10093 vs https://www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/magdalena-abakanowicz-10093

Should the identifier become a string (like “magdalena-abakanowicz-10093”) instead of a number (\d+ value as “10093”) ?

Given that the page on www.tate.org.uk is alimented with Wikipedia article, is it worth using this property ?

Thanks for flagging this. Ah, damn these websites breaking links :-(
I tried around with a slug-less URL like https://www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/_-10093 or something to that effect but no luck :-(
The ID is still in the source code ('relatedArtists': 'Magdalena Abakanowicz | id:10093') and the original dataset (albeit unmaintained as it seems :-( ) uses Numerical IDs too. So I guess the best is to drop the formatter URL at all :'( (or link to the wayback machine?).
We can always ask Tate whether they would be nice enough to provide a redirect formatter URL.  – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jean-Frédéric (talk • contribs) at 17:05, 10 March 2022‎ (UTC).Reply
Still broken, we should have https://www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/war-office-22059, not https://www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/22059 as currently. Vicarage (talk) 19:27, 22 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Its not just artists edit

We only have Artist ID for the Tate database, but the database has entries, for other things, like the War Office. https://www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/war-office-22059. Rather than create multiple properties, I suggest this property is renamed to be more generic, and the restrictions on usage which flag error on the likes of War Office (Q2060703) be lifted.
