Deleted property

Hello,

I've deleted Property:P95 ("day of birth") per request at Wikidata:Requests for deletions because, "per discussion, date of birth will be done using TimeValue not Items". We can't use TimeValue yet, but when we can we will create a new Property.

Bot a nové články

Ahoj. Procházím včera založené články a už několikrát (tedy nejen dnes) se mi stalo, že tvůj bot založil pro článek novou položku výhradně s odkazem na cs:, i když má článek stejný název jako na jiných Wikipediích (dnes cs:Sarа Jovanović - Q6445018 a Q10547164, cs:MATE - Q194090 a Q10546751). Chtělo by to asi nějak pořešit, žádostí o smazání je zde opravdu dost, tak aby aspoň jeden jejich zdroj byl umlčen. :-) --Harold (talk) 18:45, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Skript, který používám, při procházení nových stránek přeskočí nejnovějších 100. Ale když jede podle abecedy, nový článek nedokáže nijak identifikovat. Můžu zvýšit limit ze 100 třeba na 200, ale víc s tím asi nepůjde udělat. Nebo máš nějaký jiný nápad? JAn Dudík (talk) 20:53, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Možnosti skriptů neznám a v téhle technické oblasti se ani nevyznám. Co se dá dělat, nicméně pokud jde zvýšit limit, tak by asi těch 200 bylo lepších. Na cs: bývá denně okolo 100 nových článků, většinou je procházím ten následující den někdy odpoledne nebo večer (ne všechny, jen ty "žluté"). --Harold (talk) 22:22, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Ahoj, vzhledem k tomu, že dodávám cs iw na WD později, tak jsem se teď opakovaně setkal s novou položkou jen pro cs stránku vytvořenou botem. Má to nějaký praktický význam? Pokud již existují cizojazyčné iw, pak zůstane položka pro cs stránku stejně neprovázaná a osamocená navěky, další iw budou přidávány do již existující jiné položky. Takže, opravy vložení na tuto správnou stránku se musí provést ručně. Nešla by nastavit kontrola, jestli už neexistuje příslušný článek na jiné wiki? Jak by to měl kontrolovat, když nemá žádné interwiki vložené? podle setjného jména? Bohužel starý skript, který uměl hledat stejnojmenné stránky už nefunguje (respektive neumí zapsat změny).

Bot nyní při kontrole nových článků automaticky přeskočí nejnovějších 200 (hledám způsob, jak mít různý počet u článků (700) a kategorií (100)), které nemají položku na Wikidatech. Ale zároveň projíždím všechny články A-Ž (!-konec), kde jednoduše nejde poznat, zda je článek nový nebo n ěkolik let starý. Jasně, vývojáři asi pořešili nefunkčnost vkládání z prohlížeče IE. Dříve nešli ikony [přidat] otevřít, nyní se už rozbalí, načítání trvá dél. Snad už budu cs iw doplňovat přímo po založení.--Kacir (talk) 11:40, 14 May 2013 (UTC)

No the closer of the RfC said "There should not be items for local files that are already available on Commons. However, there is no consensus as to whether or not there should be items for files that cannot be uploaded to Commons; therefore such items will be allowed until and unless there is a future consensus that they should not be." There is no prohibition against linking to NFC on Wikidata, and the RfC couldn't find consensus either way, so the status quo is in place, which is that it's ok. Já jen, že hodně slučuješ při tom se ty práva dost hodí. Já tedy kandidoval s tím, že aby tu byl někdo, kdo rozumí česky a slovensky, což zatím nebylo téměř potřeba. A správcovská práva jsem kromě slučování použil jen párkrát, ale jsem za ně rád. Slnko v sieti

Dobrý den, všiml jsem si, že jste propojil tuto stránku na cs wiki se stránkami o stejnomeném slovenském filmu. Avšak tento článek české wiki pojednává o filmové eně, která je tamní obdobou Českého lva, ale ostatní články pojednávajíí o slovenském filmu z 60. let, podle kterého tato cena dostala jméno. Propojení je tedy chybné. Věřím, že to nebylo úmyslné a oceňuji vaši aktivitu, ale prosím již tyto stránky nepropojujte. Chtěl jsem vás však pouze upozornit na důvod, proč jsem propojení zrušil. NUTS/LAU

NUTS5 doesn't have to be created. NUTS5 is (was...) still subset of NUTS and we should use NUTS code (P605) for it, with qualifier end time (P582), since the it doesn't exist any more. česky: Především by se hodilo najít nějaký spolehlivý zdroj a ověřit, jaká byla "oficiální" podoba NUTS5, a tu potom zapisovat jako NUTS code (P605). Příklad z czso.cz neuvádí NUTS5, nýbrž kód podle číselníku CISOB, takže ho nelze brát jako rozhodující. Každopádně si myslím, že důležitější než vkládání již zrušených NUTS4 a NUTS5 je vložení aktuálních LAU1 a LAU2, kde snad můžeme brát za oficiální verzi nomenklaturu Eurostatu. English: First of all lets find a reliable source and check the "official" version of NUTS5, then lets insert this version into NUTS code (P605). The example doesn't give NUTS5, but some CISOB code, which is not relevant for this discussion. I'd suggest, let's wait with the (obsolete) NUTS4 and NUTS5 data and let's concentrate on (actual) LAU1 and LAU2 codes - I hope we can take the Eurostat nomenclature as a serious source for this purpose. Sorry, I can't see anything about the format or the values of NUTS5 or LAU2 in the links you provided. Only NUTS4 and LAU1, which seem to be less problematic.

As I said - Values of NUTS4/LAU1 had only minor changes in 2008, format is still same. For LAU2 I know only when some municipality changes it's district, 6 digits of NUTS5 (LAU2) remain same. JAn Dudík (talk) 11:53, 7 August 2013 (UTC)

Já to mám jako jednu z možností - ve skinu Vector (v monobook bohužel dost věcí nefunguje) vedle hěvzdičky pro sledování položky.

Do you know how to test existence with standard pywikipedia bot? I'm working on adding commonscat from cs:Kategorie:Údržba:Commonscat_není_na_Wikidatech - as you can see, A-L is almost solved, the remaining are new or non existing and I'll check them manually. No, I do not know the functions of pybot. You can check it, with the following api request: https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&titles=Category:Adolf%20Medzihradský In this case the api/pages/page[0] has a 'missing' attribute, which indicates that the category not exist. Mysterious work of you and your bot

In May your bot removed a label and a sitelink from Q12043366, so that it had no sitelinks anymore. Per WD:N it should be deleted, but your bot didn't requested deletion. The same day you created a new item with the same contents over your user account, but also you didn't requested deletion of the old item. It seems to be product of unsuccessfull merging with version 3.0 of Reza's script. And there was bot reporting empty unused items, so I believed, that this page will be reported and deleted. JAn Dudík (talk) 20:21, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

Hello, bot added it, because cs article was linking to this commonscat. I'm working on it and now all commonscat seems to be imported. If now KrBot delete non-existing link again, I'll find that articles in separate category on cs.wiki and can manually check it. Mixing Wikipedias up

Their module requires tracking, see [4]. This is not implemented yet. As soon as this is implemented, their module can get taxon name (P225) per category's main topic (P301). However, this module did not work until your bot added the corresponding claims. Your edits create constraint violation reports there and those which try to clean up the mess in our taxonomy data do not want to clean up behind a bot. Thus, the cs module needs to wait until tracking is implemented. I ask you to fix your bot and whenever changing taxonomic data bot-based, please have a look at Wikidata:Taxonomy task force if your change complies to the models discussed there. Stop your revert

Hi. Please stop your revert on Category:Belgian municipalities with town privileges as you clearly don't know what you're doing. First, it's User:InkoBot that's the vandal by slapping the wrong "Wikipedia category" comment over everything else including manually-inserted comments and refusing to revert. Second, the Commons category clearly doesn't match the subject: 99% of its components are NOT municipalities with town privileges and there are currently no matching categories on Commons for those special towns; it's not because Wikipedias (acceptably) point to loose-matching Commons categories that it must be reasonable on Wikidata, it may well not be. @Bjung: There is typical problem with these categories - dome languages have Town/City (cs, sk, fr, nl...) but some have place (de, es, an, dsb, hsb). Commonscat is OK for the second group.

Commons and enwiki have problem with this sorting to towns/villages. So the solition could be - split this item to two.

And with your edit you also removed seven correct labels for this item - this is why I called it possible vandalism.

IMO we should just accept that data on Commons is organized differently than on Wikipedias; that's not really a "problem" if all data structures on a project are useful independently of other projects; however I understand that may be a problem for import bots that operate on a permanent basis and I hope bot masters will be careful enough that it doesn't become the Wikidata users problem. Commons category (P373) is used in cswiki and skwiki by template:commonscat, so this is why I want to have this link here.

There are some bots which adds this labels, better thanm deleting would be rewrite Wikipedia -> Wikimedia.

Difference depends on state - for czech republic we have correct base categories Towns/Villages/Municipalities on commons. Deeper they are not ideal, but beter than in many other countries.

Hello JAn Dudík;

I see your bot put in taxon names after I removed them. Two points:

1. According to the reference given, this is based on the cswiki-entry, which however has a taxobox and uses the scientific name of Scarabaeus. The names inserted by your bot are there only found as links to Commons, and that does not necessarily mean much. Any Wikipedia page may have a link to any Commons page, without there being any causal link between the two except that there are relevant pictures on Commons.
2. Dung beetles are not a taxon, and should not have a taxon name (see see here). The tentative agreement is that if an item has an "instance of" other than "instance of taxon" that no taxon name should be put in.

Oh, it is a template linking to Wikispecies, not a template linking to Commons (they look almost exactly alike). I don't see why a bot would pay any attention to such templates; these templates may well be completely meaningless. After all, anybody can add such a template for any reason whatsoever. If something is to be imported from a Wikipedia page, it is found in a taxobox (and even these may easily be in error). But there is no call to import any taxon name into an item that has an "instance of" other than "instance of taxon"; in such cases no taxon name should be put in at all. - Brya (talk) 10:51, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

Yes, but your implication that the item of each Wikipedia article which has a template link to Wikispecies must have a property P225 is wrong. For example, there might be an article "Lion" and an article "List of lions in movies", both feasibly linking to Wikispecies "Lion". While the item of the taxon article "lion" must have an scientific name here, the second article is a Wikimedia list or something else but a taxon and, thus, must not get P225. And you as a bot operator are responsible to not create constraint violations (especially if you do not fix them yourself or consult the corresponding task force).  — Felix Reimann (talk) 12:45, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

I was not author of including this property from wikidata. I only import it, because there is nobody other, who can import to Wikidata from cs.wiki.

I asked community, if there is anybody who unerstand taxonomy, to check these categories for import. Next step might be to create parameter in template for y local use, as we have for Commonscat.

As bot operator I can check what bot imports (when there are 10 articles to import, but not when there are 10 thousand), but I am not responsible if anybody wrote to article Fox link to species:Lutra, or in worse case, to article Adalia decempunctata (Q184641) species:Coccinella septempunctata or something like that. As I understand, the cs template checks if the taxon name given to the template as parameter is the same as the Wikidata property taxon name (P225). This is an absolutely valid approach. For each cs articles where the parameter is equal, you could for example remove the parameter from the template and use the Wikidata value. However: This template is typically used on a lot of different pages, as I explained above. Your implication is that if an article has the template also the Wikidata item should have the property. But this implication is wrong. There might be some cases where P225 is missing here but there might be a lot of cases where the item here is not instanceof taxon (but for example a Wikimedia list) and, thus, should not get P225. Please assure that you check at least P31 before importing P225 from such a template, which is not used in taxon articles only.

Regarding the cs template itself: Could you as a Czech speaker inform the template creator that P225 is set for all taxa, but it does not imply that there exists a Wikispecies article. I'm not sure if this is clear for them. Wikispecies is not yet linked, it will get a section like every other Wikisource/-pedia/-voyage/commons link. The hyperlink created by the authority gadget is not to be confused as Wikispecies integration but only for usability until Wikispecies is not yet supported.  — Felix Reimann (talk) 14:46, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

Automatické importovanie článkov bez položky

Zdravím Jan. Všimol som si, že tvoj robot importuje nové články na skwiki, ktoré zatiaľ nemajú položku. Problém je, že také články už môžu mať položku (aj s viacerými článkami) len nie sú prepojené, ale tvoj robot proste len vytvorí novú položku (napr. Q15089034). Myslím, že v takých prípadoch by stálo za to článku nevytvoriť položku, aspoň by bol na miestnej wiki v zozname článkov neprepojených s Wikiúdajmi a mohlo by sa to ručne opraviť. Já mám pro sk.wiki nastaveno, že 100 nejnovějších článků se neimportuje. V době, kdy jsem nastavoval tuto hodnotu, to odpovídalo cca týdnu od vzniku článku. Není problém nastavit vyšší číslo. jaké?

List of infoboxes

Hi Jan, I created a list of infoboxes used on the Czech Wikipedia, similar to the one we have on en.wiki, which can be used for identifying infoboxes which have many transclusions to decide which ones to use for imports. For now it's under my userspace, but if you find it useful you could move it to a project page, under an appropriate title, and link it to the English equivalent. Dispatch Lag and Bots

Hello, Today Lydia and I noticed that DispatchStats have been increasing since the Wikiquote deployment. Currently the lag is at around 18 hours, which means all changes being made to Wikidata are taking more than 18 hours to be reflected on Wikimedia wikis.

Because of the high dispatch lag, we are asking if all bot operators could please stop their bots or have them tone down the number of edits for around 24 hours in order to allow Dispatch to catch up at a minimum. If possible, we would appreciate bot operators to stop bots until dispatch is down to a low level (which may be more than 24 hours), you can view the stats at Special:DispatchStats. Lydia has posted a similar message to this at Wikidata:Project Chat and the mailing list where we have asked all uses of Widar or other high editing programs to stop.

Since Dispatch is an important part of Wikidata and it is essential that changes are reflected on Wikimedia wikis as soon as, if Dispatch is still an issue tomorrow morning (around 11:00 UTC), we may choose to stop bots from editing Wikidata for a selected time of around 12 - 24 hours or until the bot has been stopped. In my opinion, in this discussion there is a consensus to keep P373, but to use it to connect articles with commons categories. I was wrong to interpret the consensus of that procedure? Hi, it is not redundant, this property is used by many templates on wikipedias and wikisources. Removing this property causes that template {{Commonscat}} links to nowhere (or to Commons:Category:{{PAGENAME}}) - see Category:Commons category without a link on Wikidata (Q11925744). Hi. Could you help sorting out one item? Article about football referee Néant Alioum exists in several languages. I added no-article to item Q2837091, which already had fr, it and nl. Later someone merged all these with hu:Neant Alioum (item Q1216031), but this item was later deleted (by mistake?). When I tried to reconnect the articles again, a new item was created (Q17113468). Bot know-how

Díky za nabídku. V nejbližší době si zprovozním vlastního pywikibota a mrknu na skripty k harvestingu info z infoboxů, abych se vás už mohl ptát konkrétně a neotravoval se základama, kt. jsou na stránkách pywikibota dobře zdokumentovány. Bude mi to ale chvíli trvat, právě mi začalo zkouškové :-)

I am not able to include such control - I am only user of claimit.py, not programmer. But this is the same situation as if in infobox is incorrect value which is imported to Wikidata - I am importing this from category. Now I removed this category from article, so it should be OK for future. JAn Dudík (talk) 05:55, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

herder (Q12059906)

Hi, it looks like you reorganised herder/pastoralist items a bit. Please notice that pastoralists are generally herders, but herders are not always pastoralists. Herder is the broader term. There is problem, that Wikidata are multilingual. cs:Pastevec should have main category cs:Category:Pastevectví.

Q15051373 was deleted because of an item with only a sitelink to a category page in Wikimedia Commons is not allowed

You again added Category:Pastoralists as main category to the herder item [12]. But pastoralist as a term has a different meaning and clearly is a subclass of herder, eg. a gooseherd is a herder (one who herds geese usually on areas close to houses/farms), but is not a pastoralist (because this kind of herding has none of the typical aspects of pastoralism; not to be confused with pastoral or livestock farming). So if cs:Pastevec does not mean herder in general, but only refers to pastoralist, then why do you not split it from the herder item, but reinsert the factually inaccurate main category? Užití wikidat na non-WMF wiki a pomoc se sjednocováním infoboxů

Dobrý den, chtěl jsem se zeptat, jestli bych Vám mohl pomoci s nějakou prací sjednocování infoboxů a jejich uzpůsobení pro práci s wikidaty na české wikipedii? Případně s harvestingem dat? Kdybych měl nějaký konkrétní úkol (aby nějaký infobox automaticky tahal přiřazený obrázek z wikidat např.?), lépe bych se to naučil a mohl bych se vás ptát přímo na problémy, které se vyskytnou v průběhu. Pak jsem se chtěl zeptat, jestli je plánováno fetchovat data na wikidata z taxoboxu (nebo už to proběhlo?)? Myslím, že je dost rozšířený a poctivě vyplňovaný. A dále jsem se chtěl zeptat, jestli víte, zdali je možné vkládat data z wikidat do článků na wiki, které nespadají pod hlavičku WMF. Rád bych časem použil wikidata u nás na wikiskriptech. @Wesalius: Tato stránka je vlastně spojením importu a sjednocování. Pro sjednocování je zde taky uzavřená žádost o komentář a seznam některých parametrů k převedení; jak takové sjednocování probíhá, je možné najít v těchto příspěvcích (doporučuji se také připojit k wikiprojektu). V rámci sjednocování je možné i infobox upravit tak, aby data z Wikidat rovnou přebíral (viz příspěvky). Import dat z taxoboxu je poněkud složitější, protože na Wikidatech se u taxonů používá pouze vlastnost parent taxon (P171), vlastnosti jako rod se posléze smažou (tím samozřejmě nemyslím, že jiná data se importovat/přebírat nedají). Ohledně non-WMF projektů by ses měl informovat přímo u vývojářů. Matěj Suchánek (talk) 14:19, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

@Wesalius, Matěj Suchánek: Byl jsem pár dní mimo internet (a nestěžuju si :-). Většinu už zodpověděl Matěj.

Importy je třeba jednou za čas zopakovat, protože přibývají nové články. Já mám dvě metody, jak postupovat:

1. Čistě import - vezmu odpovídající položky z infoboxu, přiřadím jim příslušné vlastnosti Wikidat a spustím import. Naimportuje se vše, co ještě není, včetně případných nesmyslů (upravené skripty od uživatele Underlying_lk (linkované ze stránky mého bota) umí kontrolovat, zda nebyla v minulosti už tato vlastnost z položky odstarněna, v tom případě znovu neimportuje).
2. Import s kontrolou - udělám si trackovací kategorii podle učité položky infoboxu a případně i kontroluju hodnotu tohoto parametru (srovnávání s Wikidaty, porovnávání importovaných hodnot s nějakou šablonou pomocí {{Constraint}} u příslušné vlastnosti). Metoda je o dost pracnější, trvá déle (je třeba porovnávat následující den, co se dostalo mezi podezřelé a ty ručně opravit/zkontrolovat. Tuto metodu pravidelně používám pro Commons category (P373) a NL CR AUT ID (P691), jednorázově jsem ji použil např. pro import NUTS pro české obce.

Můžeme si na české stránce dělat více poznámek pro lepší koordinaci importu, případně si založit importní stránku zde. JAn Dudík (talk) 11:18, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
