Wikidata:Aliases for special pages

Basta che guardi questa pagina per capire Special:ItemDisambiguation. La pagina serve per mostrare elementi disambigui quindi io avevo pensato a ElementiDisambigui. La traduzione letterale è DisambiguazioneElemento ma il senso pratico è l'altro. Francamente vedo meglio "ElementiDisambigui" perchè 1)da più il senso pratico 2)è più corta la parola. Per essere più preciso: "Disambigua elementi" significa chiarire l'ambiguità di più elementi mentre "Elementi disambigui" significa mostrare gli elementi ambigui. Raoli (talk) 20:17, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

Non so, alla fine mi ero convinto fosse la stessa cosa. In effetti però c'è un sottile problema di interpretazione in italiano. Disambigua è proprio l'azione che ti permette di disambiguare, quindi qualcuno (io no per esempio) potrebbe pensare che questa pagina speciale disambigua le pagine, cioè fa l'azione di disambiguare. Al contrario, dimmi te, elementi disambigui fa presupporre al lettore la parola "mostra". Tu presupponi questa parola quando leggi "ElementiDisambigui"? Non vorrei che la do solo io per scontata. Alcune cose

Ciao, stavo revisionando le traduzioni dell'estensione Pagine di Triage e ho notato che avei tradotto te la maggior parte dei messaggi. Allora ti vorrei dire quello che ho fatto e quello su cui o dei dubbi. Da alcune parti la parola tag veniva tradotta con tag e anche io l'avevo tradotta così all'inizio. Poi ho visto che hai utilizzato etichetta allora ho unificato mie, tue, tutte in etichetta. Ho fatto qualche correzione di stile e ho usato sempre l'espressione proporre per la cancellazione e non nominare per la cancellazione. Anche se per alcuni l'unica cosa certa sono i dubbi per me non è lo stesso. Si dà infatti il caso che come avevamo tradotto qui per Wikidata File:Wikidata_dichiarazione.png non si può dire (allineando a it.wikipedia) che un riferimento diventa una nota poichè la parola riferimento indica proprio un riferimento ad un nota, NON la nota stessa. Difatti poi se si va meglio a chiarire una nota è una nota e il riferimento è per l'appunto un riferimento che collega la fonte alla nota e viceversa. Difatti poi sorgono errori anche nella traduzione. Per farti un esempio: il sistema Page Triage non vede se esiste una nota, ma vede se esiste il collegamento nota-fonte che è ben diverso. Senza stare a dilungarmi volevo dirti che ho intenzione di modificare per questi motivi solo all'interno dello strumento Page Triage la parola nota con riferimento per giustezza. Certe volte l'italiano (o forse sono io) per dire una cosa semplice impiega giri di parole mostruosi, ma spero tu abbia capito. Page Triage Raoli (talk) 07:53, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

RE: Bot

Per ora se è già presente una descrizione, non sovrascrivo, se serve è un attimo cambiare. Gli elementi mancanti, non li creo, preferisco lasciare il compito ai Bot specializzati, comunque fra i vari log che mi creo ho anche quelli dei mancanti quindi si può far rigirare il bot in qualsiasi momento. La descrizione sui mancanti si può mettere, ma bisogna partire chiaramente da una lista di un'altra wiki, ci stavo pensando e probabilmente più avanti vedo come fare. --ValterVB (talk) 11:05, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

Ho visto che hai modificato le descrizione degli elementi che ho inserito. Se mi confermi che va scritto in modo ancor più economico, mi adeguo immediatamente, perché avevo preso come esempio questa entry e quindi pensavo potesse andar bene. Astronomical objects

Ciao Beta16, ho visto con piacere che hai dato inizio alla sezione degli oggetti astronomici in Wikidata:Property proposal. Io ero un po' confuso da tutte quelle discussioni e non sapevo dove piazzarli (qualcuno aveva pensato addirittura fra i luoghi geografici!). Io ho molte idee (ma in questo momento poco tempo!). Ti segnalo solo che ho scritto un commento al tuo dubbio su Property:P31 e aggiunto una proposta di proprietà alle tue. Can BetaBot also clean up old page moves?

I'm happy to see that BetaBot is updating the sitelinks for pages that have been moved. However, it looks like BetaBot only fixes sitelinks for recent moves. Can you also make it deal with moves that happened over the course of the past 3–4 months? As you can see, a lot of page are renamed every day and there are an enormous number of stale sitelinks on Wikidata. For example, plwiki moved thousands of asteroids. Yes, pl:User:MastiBot moved the asteroid pages on plwiki, and the sitelinks in wikidata are redirects. I think checking for redirects will cover the vast majority of all moves. —Naddy (talk) 16:28, 2 March 2013 (UTC)

I think there are some bugs here - it just updated the sitelink for en:Philip Magnus, Q6383540. The Wikidata entry was created on 6/3, a week after the page was moved and a new one was created. Andrew Gray (talk) 20:39, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

Pages moved to userspace

Fault in FuzzyBot

Hi Beta16, please don't mark pages for translation for the time being. At present there is any fault with FuzzyBot: FuzzyBot changes the text of the translated pages and replaces the translated text by English text. The changed text is not marked as untranslated now (i.e. the untranslated messages don't get red background color) and the percentage doesn't change. I've already informed Kaganer about this. FuzzyBut is allowed to mark obsolete messages as !!FUZZY!! only. Changing obsolete texts is task of translators. Regards, --Michawiki (talk) 13:41, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

Problem with moved page

Hello,

See Q3115510. Betabot keeps changing the French entry to its version just after renaming (see history). The redirection is not a redirection anymore but a disambiguation page, and the bot seems to continue to consider it as a redirection.

I suppose that the bot uses the page renaming log, no consideration if the renaming is still relevant. Is there any way to prevent it from doing that? Best, --MathsPoetry (talk) 08:32, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

Moe_Epsilon had the idea to create a separate item for the renamed page, that should generate a conflict when the bot attempts to take into account the renaming and prevent it from doing that. That should solve the problem for now. However, it seems to me that the bot's behaviour should be refined. Best, --MathsPoetry (talk) 09:24, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

Per completare ti riferisci all'eliminazione degli interlink su wiki o all'aggiunta delle descrizioni su WIkidata? Nel primo caso sto lavorando sui Template (ieri ho finite le categorie ma ce ne sarebbero ancora molte da creare), una volta finiti i template probabilmente ricomincio da capo, ma spero di riuscire ad ottenere un elenco di voci con interlink ancora presenti. Amministrazione delle traduzioni

Ciao, potresti per piacere aggiornarmi brevemente sulla situazione dell'amministrazione delle traduzioni qui? Io ho partecipato solo alle prime due o tre elezioni di amm. d. trad. e poi ho perso traccia della cosa... In particolare, mi piacerebbe sapere se è passato o no il concetto che per tradurre non serve essere amministratori e che anche per la gestione delle traduzioni la maggior parte del lavoro è prima dell'approvazione che un amministratore deve dare. Vedo che, rispetto a Meta, qui ce n'è uno sproposito pur con una quantità molto minore di pagine da tradurre. La maggior parte delle azioni nel registro vengono da utenti con una certa esperienza con Translate (tu, Kaganer e jhs), altri sembrano non averne gran bisogno[2] e qualcuno ha certo fatto un po' di disastri in passato. --Nemo 10:04, 31 March 2013 (UTC)

Giusto, eccetto che in 1) puoi farti dare la lista dei soli messaggi non aggiornati dall'API (come nel mio esempio), quindi poi 2) lo fai solo dove manca FUZZY e 3) consiste nel toglierlo e rimetterlo su ciascun messaggio. --Nemo 17:12, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

Guarda che nell'esempio che mi citi il FUZZY davvero non c'è, viene aggiunto quando clicchi modifica: prova a mostrare i cambiamenti prima di salvare.

RE: Descrizioni

Bella idea, adesso provo a vedere come viene e se non ci sono casi strani. Nel frattempo ho rifatto un altro giro sulle biografie, sugli album e ho fatto le stazioni delle metropolitane. Oltre a questo ho rifatto il giro sui film e credo proprio che a questo punto tutti i film che avevano l'infobox Film siano presenti su Wikidata con relative descrizione (per gli album mancano circa 300 voci). --ValterVB (talk) 18:49, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

Some pages and moved without leaving the redirect, and others for inversion of redirect (3-steps). This kind of check excludes all those pages. The best thing to do, for this cases, is create immediately an item in wikidata for the new page. --β₁₆ - (talk) 10:33, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

If pages are moved without leaving the redirect, it can be checked easily. If in movelog, page AA is moved to BB, the bot use this information, if and ony if (1) "AA is redirection of BB" or (2) "AA does not exist(may be removed) and BB is real page". No. If AA is moved to BB without leaving redirect and then is create a new page AA (for example a disambiguation page), the item in wikidata which refering to old AA must be update! --β₁₆ - (talk) 14:06, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

In the Q511179 case, I moved page AA to BB and and create new page AA. And added wikidata link to AA (not old BB). Your bot changed wikidata item to BB. BTW, as you said, creating all item page is the solution. -- ChongDae (talk) 01:18, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Translations

It's correct: the translations need to be updated. It's not the bot but Translate extension putting the up to date text on the page. --Nemo 21:34, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Betabot marks the English text as !!fuzzy!! but it should be the translated text. --Michawiki (talk) 00:10, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

@Erfil: That's caused by the new behaviour of Translate extension (see bugzilla:44328).

@Michawiki: The API return en subpages as "outdated", because the text is formally incorrect. When the source is correct, fuzzy will be removed (example). I corrected all the pages affected and marked them for translation. --β₁₆ - (talk) 09:52, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, but these edits by your bot are not doing any good. It's a lot, a lot better if we keep an outdated translation than an updated english text. Especially in help pages and similar ones, where the english version is not necessarily the best and it's not very important to have exactly the same content in every language. Io ad esempio qui vedo solo una modifica, mentre – a quanto capisco – serve che almeno una volta si rimuova esplicitamente un FUZZY esistente, salvo poi reinserirlo perché ci ricordiamo di aggiornare la traduzione. Non so che dire, se lo faccio manualmente su quella stessa pagina funziona... Forse c'è qualche stramberia nella modifica via API? It is my strong opinion that when we (I mean, translation admins) make some changes that do not influence translation but do influence translation units, we'd better change the translation units in all languages by ourselves. It is especially important in cases like this when the change in the original is resulted in, say, a broken table. Request for feedback on my GSoC'14 proposal

I am planning to work on the project titled "Tools for mass migration of legacy translated wiki content" this summer under Google Summer of Code. I have drafted a proposal for the same over the past few weeks. This project is going to help the translation adminstrators like you in a great way, as it would completely automate the tedious manual task of preparing a page for translation and then importing the translations into the Translate extension. You can check the proposal page for detailed information on how I plan to accomplish this.

Aiuto sulle descrizioni

Ho notato che Help:Description/it non rispecchia per nulla quanto viene stabilito da Help:Description (che tra l'altro è una linea guida già approvata). Ad esempio secondo le linee guida le descrizioni dovrebbero iniziare con la lettera maiuscola.
Ho notato che un bot aveva sostuito il testo con quello inglese, che anche se non è tradotto per lo meno è corretto, ma tale modifica è stata annullata da te. Potresti spiegarmi le ragioni dell'annullamento? --Daniele Pugliesi (talk) 06:56, 9 January 2016 (UTC)

@Daniele Pugliesi: Ciao Daniele. A parte che anche le descrizioni in inglese non dovrebbero iniziare con la lettera maiuscola (Descriptions begin with a lowercase letter except when uppercase would normally be required or expected.). In generale si è deciso che le linee guida su etichette, descrizioni e alias siano localizzate e specifiche per le varie lingue. Il motivo principale per cui si è scelto questo approccio è dovuto al fatto che ogni lingua ha propri usi, proprie regole e costruire linee guide valide contemporaneamente per l'inglese, per il tamil, per il giapponese, ed anche per l'arabo sia talmente complesso e fuori anche della logica che si è preferito lasciare alle singole comunità linguistiche decidere le regole da seguire. (cfr. Help talk:Aliases#Delete translation tool from this page). Considerato il fatto che il software permette di internazionalizzare in modo semplice le entità di questo progetto multilingue, perché non sfruttare appieno questa possibilità costringendo tutti ad usare linee guida basate sull'inglese? Hai ragione però sul fatto che ormai sarebbe ora di approvare ufficialmente anche le linee guida in italiano, anche se ormai di fatto lo sono. @Carlo Dani: come indicato in Help:Descrizione (approvata come linea guida) le descrizioni non devono iniziare con l'articolo. Inoltre devono essere brevi e non fare riferimento a situazioni che potrebbero cambiare nel tempo (ad esempio non potrebbero essere più 20 regioni in Italia, è già successo che il numero è cambiato in passato e potrebbe succedere di nuovo). Nella stessa pagina puoi vedere anche degli esempi. Può essere accettabile come descrizione "regione amministrativa italiana", ma non come hai inserito tu.

Per ora ho annullato l'unica che ho ripristinato perché non ho tempo di modificarle tutte (e quindi evito di farne 1 si e 19 no) ma se non lo fai tu, a breve le ripristino tutte. Chiedi se qualcosa non ti è chiaro --β₁₆ - (talk) 10:03, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

@Carlo Dani: Si esatto. La descrizione serve solo per non confondere l'elemento con un altro (che magari ha lo stesso nome e quindi la stessa etichetta) e dare un'idea di massima su cosa si sta parlando. Qualsiasi sua caratteristica va definita tramite le proprietà, nel caso specifico instance of (P31)autonomous region with special statute (Q1710033).

I am Kholoud, a researcher at King's College London, and I work on a project as part of my PhD research, in which I have developed a personalised recommender system that suggests Wikidata items for the editors based on their past edits. I am collaborating on this project with Elena Simperl and Miaojing Shi.

I am inviting you to a task-based study that will ask you to provide your judgments about the relevance of the items suggested by our system based on your previous edits. Participation is completely voluntary, and your cooperation will enable us to evaluate the accuracy of the recommender system in suggesting relevant items to you. We will analyse the results anonymised, and they will be published to a research venue.

The study will start in late January 2022 or early February 2022, and it should take no more than 30 minutes.

I'm not sure my help would be useful for your research.

My past edits in Wikidata cover a lot of topics (biographies, places, astronomy, physics, various types of buildings, etc...) all over the world. Pheraphs the only topic I don't care about is botany.

So, I don't know what criteria could I use to determine if a suggestion is relevant to me or not.
