Hallo Bene*,

Ich muss hier mal Kritik anbringen. Was ist das, mit Verlaub, für ein Schwachsinn mit den Änderungen, die du für die Übersetzung (in meinem Falle Ober- und Niedersorbisch) vorgenommen hast? Da ist alles rot. Die Listenpunkte sind verschoben, die Einträge für MediaWiki, RDF, JSON, XML, RDF/XML wurden einfach in Englisch nochmal hinten rangefügt und deren sorbische Übersetzungen nach oben geschoben. Ich habe gesehen, dass neue Abschnitte in das englische Original eingefügt wurden, die sind im Translation Tool noch nicht mal enthalten. Alles in allem, nochmal mit Verlaub, eine saumäßige Arbeit. Ich habe das noch nicht ganz durchgesehen, aber mir scheint, dass da sogar nun etwas rot ist, was sich gar nicht verändert hat. --Michawiki (talk) 21:49, 3 January 2013 (UTC)

Hallo Michawiki, bitte mal runterkommen. Es ist doch nicht so schlimmes passiert. Dieses Problem ist mir auch schon aufgefallen, es liegt daran, dass jemand (nicht ich) in Wikidata:Glossary neue Abschnitte eingefügt hat (was ja so gesehen nichts schlimmes ist). Nun dachte ich, dass diese Änderungen ja auch übersetzt werden sollten, also habe ich die Änderungen markiert. Dabei haben sich leider viele Abschnitte verschoben, da ja zwischendrin etwas eingefügt wurde. Ich muss sagen, dass es mich auch ziemlich geärgert hat, aber ich glaube, dass man das wieder richten kann. Bitte sei nicht böse oder so, es war ja keine schlechte Absicht :-/ Kannst du das wieder richten, oder soll ich das versuchen (dürfte allerdings schwer werden, da ich kein Wort der Sprachen verstehe)? Ich habe gerade gesehen, dass der FuzzyBot das verzapft hat. Wenn du nicht daran beteiligt warst, möchte ich mich dir gegenüber entschuldigen. Der Fakt und das Ärgernis bleibt. Hier hat der FuzzyBot dann Sch... gebaut und der wird von den Translation Admins betrieben, zu denen du ebenfalls gehörst. --Michawiki (talk) 21:59, 3 January 2013 (UTC)

Nun, solange es nicht zur Gewohnheit wird. :-) Aber du musst bedenken, dass es auch andere Sprachen als meine beiden betrifft. Sicherlich auch Deutsch. Und je länger der Text wird, um so kritischer wird es dann auch. Das Einfügen neuer Abschnitte hat bisher funktioniert, und wenn das Translation Tool euch noch Schwierigkeiten bereitet, redet mal mit Siebrand oder Raymond von translatewiki.net. Du hast die ganzen Ankernummern geändert, das hättest du m.E. nicht tun dürfen, obwohl es mich etwas wundert, denn die stehen ja als Kommentar dort. Was die Orientierung beim Einfügen neuer Abschnitte betrifft, so habe ich mich bewusst dafür entschieden, immer den englischen Begriff als Einleitung des Abschnitts zu verwenden und die sorbischen Übersetzungen danach hinzuzufügen. Andere Sprachen machen das sicher anders. Vieleicht sollte man da - wenn es nicht anders geht - eine allgemeine Information an die Übersetzer ausgeben, dies ebenso zu tun. BK. Ich bin ja auch schon ein paar Tege dran und merke, dass das Glossarium in kurzen Abständen in der englischen Fassung geändert wird und versuche Schritt zu halten. Das Hauptproblem war das Einfügen neuer Abschnitte bzw. das Versetzen. Irgendwer kam zusätzlich noch auf die Idee die Abschnitte neu zu nummerieren, anstatt den neuen Abschnitten einfach neue Nummern zu geben. Der Bot macht nichts anderes, als zu prüfen, ob sich ein Abschnitt geändert hat und die Übersetzung entsprechend zu markieren. Auf der einen Seite ist das Glossarium voraus, indem es Funktionen beschreibt, die noch nicht dem User zur verfügung stehen, zum anderen folgt das Glossarium den Entwicklungs- und Diskussionsschritten. Es wird noch einige Updates geben, ich hoffe aber, dass neue Nummerierung nicht mehr dazu gehört.--Giftzwerg 88 (talk) 22:24, 3 January 2013 (UTC)

Danke, Giftzwerg 88. Da hat sich mal wieder gezeigt, dass nicht alle neue Besen gut kehren. Ich gebe zu, ich bin manchmal etwas ungeduldig, und habe mich schon beklagt, dass die englische Seite manuell geändert wird, ohne dass die Änderungen ins Translation Tool eingearbeitet werden. Aber ansonsten lief die Markierung der Änderungen bestens. Dass das alles noch in Fluss ist, ist mir klar, und im Grunde ist alles auch dann noch im Fluss, wenn so ein Projekt wie Wikidata schon lange eingeführt ist. Hallo Bene*. Doch nochmal die Frage: Könnt ihr die Änderungen rückgängig machen oder muss ich das anpassen? Allerdings fehlen die neuen Abschnitte (z. B. Triplet und Namespace). Die müssen erst ins Translation Tool eingearbeitet werden und die obengenannten doppelten Einträge müssen raus (das heißt die englischen) auch die Beschriftung für das Schema der Wikidat-Terminologie ist auch neu eingefügt, ist aber im Grunde auch nur eine Änderung. Es bringt nichts, wenn ich jetzt manuell etwas anpasse und dann wird es doch wieder überschrieben. Grüße, --Michawiki (talk) 11:18, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

Ich kann schon versuchen, das wieder rückgängig zu machen, aber ich fürchte, dadurch wird es nicht besser. Einige Sprachen sind jetzt schon angepasst, andere noch nicht... Das gibt nur ein totales Chaos. Ich werde allerdings demnächst nicht mehr die Abschnitte ändern, sodass soetwas nicht mehr passieren dürfte. --Bene* ^t_a^l_k 11:36, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

Die Änderung der Reihenfolge war sinnvoll, auch die neu eingefügten Abschnitte. Ich habe mir die englische + deutsche Version ausgedruckt und nebeneinander gelegt, dann die verschobenen Abschnitte in die richtigen Abschnitte hineinkopiert und anschließend auf die veränderten Texte angepasst.--Giftzwerg 88 (talk) 11:46, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

Ja, so hatte ich das auch vor. Nur muss ich die neuen Abschnitte im Übersetzungsool haben oder jemand gibt mir das Übersetzungsrecht für die Wikidata-Seite. Ich hab es mir angeschaut, ich kann die Übersetzungen im Übersetzungstool aufrufen (und vermutlich auch ändern, werde mich hüten). Du musst vermutlich oben den Radiobutton anklicken mit der Option "Alle Nachrichten" anzeigen und dann den Button rechts oben "Hole", oder wie immer das in deiner Sprachversion heißt. Das habe ich eingeblendet. Es sind allerdings 43 Einträge. Alle Einträge die grün sind - sprich als bisher unübersetzt gelten - sind bereits übersetzt enthalten. Die wirklich neuen Einträge sind gar nicht enthalten. Hinter dem Eintrag Page fehlen zum Beispiel Namespace, Linked Data und Triplet. Die enthaltenen grünen Einträge müssen raus. So, Obersorbisch ist fertig. Die Wikidata-Seite meldet zwar nur 99 %, aber ich denke, das ist nur eine Cache-Sache. Bei einigen wenigen Einträgen hat mir der Übersetzungsspeicher geholfen, aber die Diff-Funktion war natürlich völlig ad absurdum geführt, abgesehen mal davon, dass die auch nicht immer zur Verfügung stand. Update hängt irgendendwie

hier kann man die Statistik abrufen. Zwei Einträge zeigen auf jden Fall nicht zutreffende Werte.

1. Arbeitsablaufstatus. Dieser Teil ist komplett übersetzt, läßt sich auch nicht ändern, da irgendwie schreibgeschützt. Es wird trotzdem als nicht übersetzt dargestellt.

2. Help Aliases. Dieser Teil ist komplett übersetzt, aber vier Abschnitte möchte das System nicht als übersetzt anerkennen. Es gibt darin ein Problem mit dem <br>, was immer Fehlermeldungen produziert. Das ist möglicherweise der Grund für dieses Verhalten.--Giftzwerg 88 (talk) 00:26, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

Changes to the translatable sections' numbering

Hi Bene*, happy new year! :)

Could you please help me to understand your changes to the sections' numbering? It has taken me a few minutes to understand why the French translation was almost completely outdated, but it looks like this kind of changes will force every single language to be translated again, because the numbering is not the same.

There was a big discussion above and I recognized that it will be better not to change the sections if there is something added. The problem was that someone added a new section in the middle of the article an I thought that it should be ordered. But I did not mentioned that all the translated sections will be outdated then. Hello Arkanosis. The best is that you use two instances of the translation tool (on separate tabs), one of them you take as basis for translation and the other one you use for copying the translated text into the edit window of the new place. But don't update the latter translation tool instance, otherwise you possibly overwrite the translated text to be copied (because there is another message order). I think it would be good that the translators will be informed that they have to translate once more. I think we need inform the translators of those languages only that have at least one small square (the brown square). --Michawiki (talk) 17:54, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

I see that the change has been reverted. You now should personally move all the recent translations to the correct units, or at least apologize to Jhs for the additional work.

Hallo Daniel Mietchen, den Fehler habe ich auch schon bekommen. Es könnte sein, dass es daran liegt, dass die Kategorie zu groß ist. Ich muss wohl die einzelnen Abfragen nochmal unterteilen, damit nicht zu viele Daten auf einmal gesendet werden. Danke auf jeden Fall für den Hinweis, ich versuche, das zu reparieren. Kategorien-Tool funktioniert nicht

Hallo Bene, ich war einige Tage nicht bei Wikidata und habe gerade die Hinweise auf dein Kategorien-Tool entdeckt. Das klingt sehr interessant, aber leider kann ich es nicht nutzen. Bei Einstellungen - Helferlein sehe ich es nirgendwo und der Link http://bots.wmflabs.org/~bene/items_by_cat.php erzeugt nur ein 403 Forbidden. Bug in DotNetDataBot?

If you try this:

Maybe a bug with "GetTemplateParameter" (also in previous version). Try

Another little question about DotNetDataBot

I started to delete the interlink on it.wiki. For every interlink on the page I check that exist the item on Wikidata, but with some languages I have a wrong response. If I use "i.itemExists(lang, page)" with "lang = zh-yue" or some other language I have "false" but the link exist (ex. Items by cat tool

Hi, thank you for your nice tool for Farsi it has two bugs

• fa > category:ایران shows error!
• the link after The list of all pages which have no item in should be in Unicode
• it offers create to user but for example for : fa > آی‌بی‌ام (show missing pages only) it shows آی‌بی‌ام (en:IBM article) which has item here for (en:IBM article). in my opinion before offering create it should say in other language it has an item in wikidata. do you want to add it to that item.
• if it is possible please add localization option. this tool is very useful and we can link to it to our community

Hi Reza1615, I've created a Documentation page for the tool which is linked on the bottom. You can add translations as well as bug reports to the section. @Missing pages: How should the script know that the item exists in another language? for translation I added it. for missing item, it get interwikis from API and check their items (this part can be in other process ,after user click on bottom which shows item it can run)

Uw-link-removal

Hello Bene*, I saw you created {{Uw-link-removalx}} and you are controlling a bot. Are you planning to notify user with this template by bot automatically? If not, can I program my bot to do this? In my opinion, the bot would notify users hourly, but should wait at least half hour before notifying. If a user are warned by {{Uw-link-removal4}}, the bot will report to WD:AN. Are these conditions okay? Thank you :)

Special:ItemByTitle

Hi! Special:ItemByTitle doesn't work with the namespace "Wikipedia" (yes with variants, Wikipédia, Viquipèdia...), e.g. Q6047536 item [1]. In contrast your gadget "SitelinkCheck:" works with the namespace "Wikipedia". You could suggest that Special:ItemByTitle is replaced by your gadget "SitelinkCheck:".--Vivaelcelta (talk) 23:29, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

I am not so happy with that idea because ItemByTitel is a software feature and SitelinkCheck only a javascript gadget. Maybe it would be sensefull to enable the gadget by default, so that even ips can easier check for duplicates. --Bene* ^t_a^l_k 17:29, 4 March 2013 (UTC)

MediaWiki:Gadget-wikibase.js

When I have create a item with "SitelinkCheck", it redirects to the item, but in bar address the letter q is lowercase, e.g. q6307433. But in Wikidata the letter Q is used in capitalized. And the same for properties. So please in MediaWiki:Gadget-wikibase.js change

I changed it in the Gadget, but not as you mentioned, because the Wikibase software works with lowercase letters and so I have to switch the letter in lowercase, too. --Bene* ^t_a^l_k 19:15, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

Adding french translation for search, select and reset

Hi Bene,

I did those change when I did not had an account. I did not find proper context in the page, so the translation might not be appropriate. search is both a noun and a verb in English, but in French, it translate as Recherche when its a noun and Rechercher when its verb (infinitive). If you can provide proper context, I will review the translation.

• ich habe es so verstanden, dass du das Gadget "Preview" geschafft hast. Ist es möglich, auch das zu übersetzen?

Hi, sorry for my english (I am French). You have reverted my edit here. But the interwiki was wrong : fr:Amandil is a redirection on french WP. The complete list has not "Amandil" for interwiki. I don't see why Amandil will have "Liste des Hommes de le Terre du Milieu" for interwiki and not all the others entries of the list. Wikidata don't accept the redirection fr:Amandil as interwiki, so I removed it. The actuel interwiki fr:Liste des Hommes de la Terre du Milieu is simply wrong. This list should have its own entry, an hypothetical "List of Men of Middle-earth" (doesn't exist on the english WP, but exist on others). Übersetzungen, Stand mitte März 2013

Hallo Bene

Ich hätte da ein paar Dinge wegen den Übersetzungen.

• Community Portal Wikidata:Community_portal/de. Die Seite wurde von mir mal umfassend bearbeitet und in verschiedene Richtungen erweitert z.B. Links zu Hilfeseiten etc. Irgendwann wurde das Teil wieder umgestellt auf eine 1:1 Übersetzung. Meine früheren Bearbeitungen sind irgendwie verschwunden. Ich vermute mal dass da irgendwo zwei Versionen rumgeistern.
• In der Translation Extension wird Help:Aliases/de zur Übersetzung angezeigt. Wir haben aber dazu schon die Seite Help:Alternativnamen und es wurde ja auch schon beschlossen, sich von den englischen Regeln abzulösen. Kann man die Seite aus der Übersetzung für die deutsche Version herausnehmen?
• Hier wird immer noch bei Template text ein Abschnitt als nicht übersetzt angezeigt. Ich konnte bisher nicht rausfinden was da noch fehlt.
• Ich bin jetzt dran die Properties zu übersetzen, da ist aber noch viel im Fluss, bin aber bald durch.

Hallo Giftzwerg 88, du musst bei angeblich unübersetzten Geisternachrichten mal noch irgendeine Aktivität im Übersetzungstool vornehmen und dann noch einmal speichern. Ich drücke oft einfach nur einmal die Leertaste und lösche das Leerzeichen wieder mit der Rücktaste. Dann speichere ich noch einmal und dann verschwindet auch die Geisternachricht. Hi, the main problem is that the check for done sections has been overwritten by you change. There was already a better solution than ajax requests for each item. Ich habe es sowohl unter Firefox als auch unter Chrome versucht, klappt bei beiden nicht. Kannst du mir weiterhelfen? Wikilink "won't go away!"

Thanks for the (automated) message on my talkpage. Yes I tried to remove an interwiki link from en:Ysgol yr Hendre (a school in Trelew, Argentina) which was pointing to es:Hendre, which is a rural area outside Trelew. I don't think either article appears on the corresponding wikis (en and es), but thought it was better to remove the link, as it might discourage their creation in future if someone just glances at the interwiki list and sees a link there. Bot für Item-Beschreibungen

Moin Bene*, ich habe gesehen, dass dein Bot Edits wie diesen hier macht. Ist es möglich, dass der Bot ähnliche Ergänzungen auch für Plattdeutsch macht? Dass ich also Strings wie etwa "Gemeen in Frankriek" liefere und der Bot diese Beschreibungen automatisch bei den betreffenden Artikeln setzt? Gibt es irgendwo eine Übersichtsseite, auf der man solche Strings hinterlegen kann? Es gibt da ja sicherlich noch andere geschlossene Artiklegruppen neben den französischen Gemeinden, bei denen ähnliche Beschreibungen bot-unterstützt ergänzt werden können. --Slomox (talk) 15:17, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Okay, danke! Um also noch einmal nachzufragen: was du brauchst, ist eine Kategorie und der Text? "Kategorie" im Sinne von Wikipedia-Kategorie?

Für die französischen Gemeinden hätte ich zum Beispiel gerne die Beschreibung "Gemeen in Frankriek" und als Bezeichnung das Lemma (minus BKL-Klammern etc.) aus der fr.wp und für Wikipedia-Begriffsklärungsseiten die Beschreibung "Sied för en mehrdüdig Begreep op Wikipedia".

Ich würde das gerne umfassend angehen und strebe an, dass das Ganze nach Möglichkeit mindestens mehrere 100.000 bis Millionen Edits umfasst. Und das soll dann sowohl Beschreibungen wie auch Bezeichnungen umfassen. Da ich dir nicht zu viel Arbeit machen möchte (die Arbeit soll ja möglichst nur der Bot bekommen), wäre es gut, wenn du mir kurz schildern kannst, was geht und was nicht geht.

Kann der Bot zum Beispiel problemlos sämtliche auf Wikidata vertretenen Begriffsklärungsseiten durchgehen?

Ist es möglich, dass der Bot für bestimmte Artikelgruppen für die plattdeutsche Bezeichnung die hochdeutsche oder die englische Bezeichnung übernimmt, es sei denn es gäbe bereits ein plattdeutsches Lemma, das dann stattdessen übernommen werden würde? --Slomox (talk) 13:25, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Der logischste Ansatz wäre ja, wenn man die Werte von Propertys betrachtet. Dass also jedes Item, bei dem Property:P132 auf das Item Q484170 verweist, die Beschreibung "Gemeen in Frankriek" erhält. Ist das so durch den Bot machbar (eventuell auch mit etwas komplexeren Konstrukten wie "Property W = Item X AND Property Y != Item Z")? Are you sure that importing this script in the available by default gadget MediaWiki:Gadget-AuthorityControl.js is the right way to do make this feature available? I think you should move it to an available by default gadget loaded by the RessourceLoader. Bitte nicht. Die Seite sollte nicht übersetzt werden, bis sie eine Policy geworden ist, da noch zu viele Änderungen vorgenommen werden. Hey, ich hab mir da sehr wohl was bei gedacht. Zum einen ist es doch sinnlos, den OLD_USERNAME anzugeben, weil der eh durch REVISIONUSER geholt wird. Die anderen Änderugen tragen hauptsächlich zur Übersichtlichkeit bei, da wir jetzt die Vorlage {{Account renaming}} haben. Was genau stört dich denn? Oder hältst du mich für doof? Der Name der Vorlage sollte meiner Meinung nach {{Renameuser}} sein. Zudem erkenne ich nicht, warum die Überschrift per Preload eingefügt wird, da diese Vorlage absolut keine andere Funktion hat als auf WD:Bureaucrats' noticeboard. Und OLD_USERNAME ist meiner Meinung nach ganz und gar nicht sinnlos, da es eventuell sein könnte, dass man einer Anfrage für einen Alternativaccount erstellt, eine falsch platzierte Anfrage von metawiki überträgt etc. ;-) Der Nutzen der Verwendung von {{Status}} ist mir auch nicht ganz klar. Lokale Umbenennungsanfragen sind keine Stewardanfragen und benötigen nicht so viele Parameter. Die Statusanzeige erscheint mir daher erstens redundant und zweitens sind Parameter wie "Locally handled" für ein lokales Projekt nicht allzu sinnvoll. Für die Probleme bei {{Status}} kann ich nichts. Das wurde blind importiert... Wenn man OLD_USERNAME ändern können soll, musst du das auch in der Überschrift ändern. Ich würde mich echt gerne mal mit der Botprogrammierung beschäftigen, komme aber nicht sehr weit. Als Sprache würde ich gern C# und das von entwickelte DotNetData verwenden, da mir Python nicht so liegt. Die Beispiele unter Wikidata:Creating_a_bot#DotNetDataBot verstehe ich auch soweit. Nur habe ich überhaupt keine Ahnung wie ich vorgehen muss um einen Bot zu programmieren. Schonmal ganz blöde nachgefragt: Wo laufen die Bots am Ende? Über meinen eigenen Computer oder auf den Servern der Wikimedia? Wäre froh wenn du mich etwas unterstützen würdest, eben nicht im coden, sondern im Vorgehen. Objection to one of your bot's old tasks

Hey. I just realized that one of the tasks your bot has been doing has been adding the "operating system" property (Property:P306) with the value "Microsoft Windows" (Q1406) to items on video games (Example). I consider that to be incorrect, as Microsoft Windows is not the operating system but the platform (Property:P400) when it comes to video games. Hi Bene, ist der Warnhinweis auf P107 nicht ein bisschen übertrieben? Hab eben die Eigenschaft entfernt (weil ja offenbar ganz schlimm) und dann ist mir aufgefallen, dass in der Beschreibung steht, dass es gleich zwei andere Eigenschaften gibt, die angeblich besser sein sollen, aber für deren Benutzung man erst ein Handbuch lesen muss. Das Problem hier ist, dass der Hinweis vorher nur in der Beschreibung stand und es einige Benutzer bwz. IPs gab, die fröhlich weiter die Property benutzt haben. Da sie aber auf lange Sicht entfernt werden soll, sehe ich es für angemessen, den Benutzern klar zu machen, dass sie nicht mehr hinzugefügt werden sollte. Außerdem regt das Label auch Benutzer wie z.
