الهدف من مشروع ويكي كتب هو:

خصائص ببليوغرافية

استخدمنا نموذج المتطلبات الوظيفية للسجلات الببليوغرافية (FRBR) (وهو إطار مفاهيمي شائع الاستخدام في علم المكتبات) لتقسيم خصائص الكتب إلى مجموعتين، يؤكد نموذج المتطلبات الوظيفية للسجلات الببليوغرافية على حقيقة أنه يمكنك عرض كتاب بأربع طرق أو مستويات مختلفة: كـ عمل أو تعبير أو طبعة أو بند.
