I ask for sysop permission to help to fight again trolls and vandalism. In the previous weeks one super-troll for Hebrew wikipedia start to vandal wikidata, i can help to fight her (and other) here with my knowledge about her from hebrew wikipedia, there i am sysop too. I have alot of knowledge about wikidata, and was one of the first he-wikipedia that work on the connection between Hebrew wikipedia and wikidata back in 2013 and 2014. In the previous month i work to update templates on He-wikipedia to take more data from wikidata, so i work more in the wikipedia side. but because this work we are more concern about vandalism in wikidata, so i want to help here too. In addition i will help on other sysop permissions like delete page and add/remove permission from other users. -- yona b (talk) 07:35, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

- Strong support. User:יונה בנדלאק is one of the more expert users on wikidata in Hebrew wiki. He is working a lot in Hebrew wiki to import information from wikidata to templates in Hebrew wiki. There is a lot of concern there, about vandalism here that affect Hebrew wiki. Last month a troll user:יעל י is vandalised a lot of pages here using socks. It increase our concern. Yona know her very well and it would help to have here a sysop that he is also administrator in Hebrew wiki. See some examples of the problem of the vandalism on Wikidata:Administrators' noticeboard here, here and Vandalism of 141.226.218.105 (שיחה • תרומות • יומנים) pleas block and undo. Thanks Hanay (talk) 09:59, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

- Support. As you can see from my contributions I am pretty active on Wikidata. User:יונה בנדלאק is my "to go" man whenever I need help. He is well familiar with Hebrew Wikipedia and Wikidata and always able to resolve issues and tasks I ask him. Unfortunately, The HE Wikipedia users are weak monitoring Wikidata and therefore vandalism on wikidata articles related to HE articles are not discovered. He will surely be our firewall in this area with his vast experience. I strongly recommend to grant him Administrator permissions. בורה בורה (talk) 14:12, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- Neutral,
- I do not expect admins to have perfect English but I DO expect admins to speak little to no broken English.
- few edits to Project chat/admin notice board
- majority of edits are to translations/labels
- Im sorry but the overall edits does tell me you are more suited as an editor, not an admin. Im not totally comfortable supporting now. MechQuester (talk) 14:32, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

He has generally good technical understanding of Wikidata, and of the kinds of vandalism that can affect Wikidata and many other languages. Time to give him the mop! :) --Amir E. - Comment and a question to User:Pyb. I lately had some requests on Wikidata:Administrators' noticeboard to block users that vandalized in wikidata. I found out that the administrators here, some time, are not responding quick enough in such requests. It is something that need to be dealt immediatly. How do you plan to deal with such requests? Thanks Hanay (talk) 10:03, 3 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

- It seems somewhat obvious that we don't have sufficient contributors with this language (rtl languages seem to confuse most of us, or at least me) and we can always use more administrators active on Requests for deletions. "2" (sorry for the shorthand) nominated quite a few pages there, so it would be interesting to hear from administrators who handled these requests. It's my understanding that none of the administrators who opposed above are currently active there (or have been recently).

I lost my admin rights because of inactivity but I am once again active. I don't think anyone had any complaint with my use of the admin tools, and it would be helpful if I had once again the possibility of deleting items or editing protected pages. I think these reasons are valid enough, if we consider that admins are simply users that can be trusted with the admin tools :). --Zolo (talk) 11:16, 8 April 2017 (UTC) --Zolo (talk) 11:16, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It recently came to my attention that the Wikidata administration team is considered understaffed and new members would be welcomed to deal with tedious everyday tasks. I hereby offer myself for that position and request approval by the Wikidata community to service our project with sysop rights.
I became a Wikimedia editor in November 2012 via German Wikipedia and started to work with Wikidata soon after. Statistical details about my contribution can be found here. In all Wikimedia projects I topically work in sports-related fields, but I also do a lot of general maintenance work to keep things clean and useful. In the case of Wikidata this includes covi page supervision, property and property talk page maintenance, occasionally RC patrolling, item merging, and plenty of other smaller tasks. Furthermore I participate in community discussions and helpdesks, such as WD:Project chat, WD:Forum (German equivalent), as well as WD:Request a query, and try to act as a Wikidata ambassador at German Wikipedia, a community which is unfortunately pretty skeptical about our project. With 228k+ Wikidata edits to my account I have of course been involved in some controversial discussions, but my behavior has never been regarded problematic to my knowledge. I have never been blocked or called to admin attention in any Wikimedia project, and I also do not have or had any other accounts besides this one (User:MsynBot is a designated bot account owned by me, without any edits and with no plans to activate it).
The decision to offer my service to the community was made spontaneously within the past two days after I heard about a shortage of administrative workforce. Since I am involved in many (non-sysop) janitorial tasks at Wikidata anyway, I think that I am generally well prepared for this position. In case of a successful RfA I would thus help the administration team to deal with everyday tasks, particularly item deletion and RC/CVN work (vandal blocks, item protection …). WD:Administrators' noticeboard is already on my watchlist for a prolonged time, so I am somewhat familiar with the topics discussed over there. Since this would be my first sysop position, I’d start with simple cases to familiarize myself with the extra tools and dig deeper into the business with time.

As my previous speaker I heard of the fact, that admins are needed in Wikidata. At Wikidata:Forum we identified many empty items (~ 6.700) which now are flooding Wikidata:RfD. If the community gives me sysop rights, I can help with that and everyday work.
I am Admin at dewiki and wikipedia user for over 10 years. I have started to contribute to Wikidata in the end of 2013. Since then I did over 700,000 edits, mostly with helping tools like Quick Statements, Harvest Template and Pet Scan. Mainly I contribute in the film section. As member of the Wikidata:WikiProject Movies I tested a lot with Mix'n'match catalogs. Further more I am very active in working with constraint violations.
If you support my request, I would be happy about your vote.

- today I marked some 200 deletion requests by you as not done, including some high quality items like Saint Margaret of Antioch church in Ciechocin (Q29974825). If you have the admin rights would you have deleted all these items? --Pasleim (talk) 15:28, 22 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- The items are taken from WDQ, they are all empty except for some valid items, which are wrong listed. I would, of course, not delete them. Queryzo (talk) 20:45, 22 May 2017 (UTC) PS: I apologize for listing the Civil Parish items, but I couldn’t withdraw them as I recognized they are notable.[reply]
- Why couldn't you? Lymantria (talk) 12:55, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- Because I don't know how. PetScan etc. have opportunities to select items from descriptions (so I could add some statements for them), but the RfD website only have blank item numbers, so that it is very tough to refind sth. Queryzo (talk) 13:17, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- I hope you are aware that all your requests have to be handled manually and are checked one by one by administrators. Those are checks you could have done as well. You should have in fact. But the portion of incorrect requests is more than I can neglect. Then saying that you don't know how to withdraw them and that they are hard to check manually, is simply not good enough. If you are careless like this in doing your request, I am not confident in your administrator abilities. Lymantria (talk) 19:24, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- As I said, the items are taken from WDQ. I nominate them by a given query (see Wikidata:Forum). Most of these items has been deleted. In the last days I nominated some items from User:Pasleim/Items for deletion/Page deleted, Now I see I have to be more careful with these items. I am still learning to deal with notability guidlines, thank you all for your patience. Queryzo (talk) 20:05, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

- Most of your RfDs are fine. However, I am concerned with what Pasleim has said. It is good that you want to help, but I am not sure if you took the time to check the items thoroughly before nominating them for deletion. Accuracy is more important than speed. - Sorry for that but we're about to delete thousands of items (over 3.000 have been deleted in the last week), so there is not much time to check single deletion requests. I would like to ask all members of this project to help, either give statements to empty items or if they are admin, delete them. Queryzo (talk) 13:17, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- I see there are again many invalid deletion requests. Seems that Queryzo does not check items and their histories before posting DRs, even after other users tried to draw their attention on this fact, following previous bad DRs. I'm not sure if the candidate is aware of Wikidata notability criteria, common deletion outcomes and consensuses/outcomes of some relevant RFCs. --XXN, 12:54, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Currently, there's the notice on the administrator's notice bot to "promote more adminbots or hurry the developers" given the huge deletion backlog. I want to have the permission to help with the current problem and other admin tasks. I joined Wikidata last year and I'm heavily involved in discussions in the Project Chat and the creation for new properties. Before I had proposal creation rights there was often a larger backlog of properties that were marked as ready but which haven't been created and I did a lot of work to create proposal to combat that backlog. --ChristianKl (talk) 12:46, 21 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've been an active contributor to Wikidata since 2016, mostly to electronic music-related and I've also been active on the English Wikipedia in content creating, new page reviewing and counter-vandalism. — Zawl 07:58, 22 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

- Oppose. The candidate only has two edits in Wikidata space, both to do with this application for administrator rights. Most of his ~400 edits to Wikidata are done via the English Wikipedia. I see no prior experience of interaction with community processes on Wikidata. I suggest that the candidate should participate more in either community discussions on Wikidata (e.g. WD:RFD, WD:PP, WD:PFD) or engage in Wikidata counter-vandalism, before applying for administrator status again. Hello, I'm applying for Sysop permission because I'd like to help Wikidata sysops against trolls and vandalism especially the vandalism in Arabic contents, also I'm a Rollbacker in Wikidata since August 2016. Before several weeks I noticed many vandalism in Arabic labels and descriptions in Wikidata some of them since one month or more (like here), and I found items that must be deleted like this (I.e. items with bad Arabic words and contents without anything more), so as I said I'd like to help sysops against trolls and vandalism and on other fields; like delete pages, block vandals and pages protection. I have carefully read the Wikidata Administrators policy. I'm Checkuser, Bureaucrat and Sysop in Arabic Wikipedia (See CentralAuth) --Alaa :)..! 16:35, 26 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

- Oppose No statement, created while logged out, careless errors, and only 4 edits globally. Not the sort of experience or level of care we want from an admin. --Rschen7754 18:16, 3 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- Strong oppose this was surely created in error? Definitely I see no reason to support this. ArthurPSmith (talk) 19:47, 3 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

- Support, We, the languages of south asia script, really need an admin on wikidata. Muhammad Shuaib (talk) 05:32, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose I don't see any need for the admin flag at present. I would suggest reapplying when you have been more active in the Wikidata side of things. --Rschen7754 19:46, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Support Since the contributor feels at ease at multiple languages and posses technical knowhow, it looks odd and unwise not to support. Eversince I have started contributing Wikipedia always found him very positive to the given situation situation and the systems he deal with. - Comment thanks for the offer. It's definitely help we need. If you allow me a suggestion: as an intermediary step, you might want to participate in admin-related activities.
--- Jura 12:12, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply] - Comment The requester has around 16K edits which generally looks good. Some issues: I see several recent items (DG Rangers Sindh (Q42585443), Hisham ibn Isma'il al-Makhzumi (Q42532725) and Diana N Wadia (Q42584056)) created by the requester where there is no properties of any kind or any language links. The diversity of edits in the Wikidata namespace seems mostly related to translations. No edits in Wikidata talk nor talk namespace nor translations talk. As other editors I would like to know what kind of admin duties the requester would like? — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 13:00, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
