This is in fact a Wikimedia duplicated page (Q17362920) (Q720028 already have a svwiki link).--GZWDer (talk) 17:01, 13 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

@GZWDer: you're right regarding this pair of items/pages. But there are many other 'valid' examples, e.g.:

--XXN, 17:20, 13 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Lsjbot dose not place interwiki links to other wikis (except cebwiki) in svwiki page, but placed them in cebwiki page. I don't think this is intended.--GZWDer (talk) 17:26, 13 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
Still they are about the same subject and interwikis were correct. An interwiki bot would handle better such situation, avoiding creation of duplicated items. --XXN, 20:36, 13 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Bot doing incorrect merges edit

Your bot is doing lots of incorrect merges, e.g. on Template:User wo-3 (Q14375493) it has merged categories for Mingrelian, Wu, Oirat and Vilamovian and on Template:User Chinese Language (Q15051472) it merged Chippewa with Chinese. Please undo all the incorrect merges. - Nikki (talk) 08:14, 16 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hmm, something went wrong. I'll try to find all those problematic merges and to undo them ASAP, but it's not easy due to the large amount of merges performed. In most of cases duplicates were detected succesfully, e.g. https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q6447026&action=history --XXN, 09:59, 16 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Nikki: I think I fixed all wrong merges from this series. But let me know if you'll find another one (I hope there are no more such cases). BTW, more and more duplicates are created meanwhile and again is needed to mass detect them and their targets and to perform merges... --XXN, 19:51, 16 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! I fixed a few more where you managed to merge categories and templates and also Template:User mad (Q14936389) (watch out for things like actual words ("mad", "old"...) which might not be referring to languages and programming languages ("js", "css", "php"...)). I hadn't realised how many duplicates GZWDer had created. :( - Nikki (talk) 08:03, 17 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Florabase on geographic items?? edit

What is this about? Your bot is adding identifiers that should only go on taxon to an item about an archipelago. Please pause and check what you are doing. --99of9 (talk) 07:42, 19 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

This task was finished ~10 hours before this post here, and the bot will not run again to add again these values. In fact this was a manual start to harvest values from en:Category:FloraBase ID not in Wikidata and I had no option to exclude some pages from processing. But, post factum probably it's easier to find these items to undo unwanted additions (e.g. SPARQL query: http://tinyurl[.]com/y8paqzrd); I reverted this and few other changes (some of them yesterday, while watching the contributions live). +Posted on bug tracker a feature request for framework to handle better such cases. --XXN, 09:40, 19 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
Ok, thanks for fixing the problems. --99of9 (talk) 10:14, 19 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

municipality seat (Q15303838) edit

Salut.

Înclin spre a doua varianta. Cc Andrei Stroe --Strainu (talk) 16:43, 20 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

BOT:MErge disambiguatio with not disambiguation edit

Can you check you bot? Has merged disambiguation item with not disambiguation. Ex. Q16868070, Q3192815, Q6391980. I don't know how many item are involved I hope you can check. --ValterVB (talk) 18:51, 30 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

@ValterVB: Thanks for letting me know, I'll improve the bot code to avoid mixing items for disambiguations and family/given names. Seems that these were all the items I mixed recently, as the bot merged ~300 disambiguation items in last days and tabernacle shows that only two items from these remains tagged with Wikimedia disambiguation page (Q4167410)+family name (Q101352): Q3201089 & Q7296913, but they were already mixed from long time ago, before my bot touched them. --XXN, 20:39, 30 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
I suppose this is a recurring problem among newbies and user uninvolved in Wikidata as well (e.g. doing merges from client wiki). Probably there is necessary to create an abuse filter rule which will prevent merging such items. --XXN, 22:35, 30 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Incomplete mergers by your bot edit

Hey XXN, I saw a couple of incomplete mergers by your bot, such as this one (no redirect left behind after clearing the item). Can you please check what happened? I have no idea whether this related to the previous section by User:ValterVB. Regards, MisterSynergy (talk) 19:01, 30 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

I'm investigating now what happened and how many items were affected, and will fix them. --XXN, 20:49, 30 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! —MisterSynergy (talk) 21:10, 30 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
@MisterSynergy: seems that a number of 5 items were affected this bug, including the one mentioned by you: [1][2][3][4][5] I've checked and redirected them manually. Actually my bot code is badly structured, isn't in a stable version yet, and I see that for one specific conditional code statement introduced recently the redirecting function was not working. Debugged. Thank you for letting me know so soon about this issues. --XXN, 22:29, 30 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Bot connecting sv/cebwiki articles to inappropriate items edit

See Special:Diff/529705054 and Special:Diff/529707894, I'm not sure how you're matching them but something is broken. :/ - Nikki (talk) 21:34, 1 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Nikki: well, as is said in summary I just connected in WD some unconnected cebwiki articles with corresponding svwiki articles about the same things. But it is true that both sitelinks are now in a wrong item (hopefully this even should increase the chance of detecting them as misconnected). For this action of connecting sitelinks I didn't added an additional checker based on item claims, as I already had one based on categories & page titles in Wikipedias and I presumed that the item in which the svwiki sitelink is connected is already OK and connecting there the cebwiki sitelink should be safe, but now we know that it's not always so. Seems that Lsjbot somehow misidentified the needed WD item for created article(s), then an interwiki bot connected them in WD, and now it was my turn... What really concerns me is the fact that I changed other labels but I shouldn't do this:( I'll focus my efforts on searching potenitally affected items by this error; I'm thinking now which would be the most effective way to go by, and I'll notify you to inform about any progress on this case. --XXN, 22:35, 1 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Nikki: Done some clean-up; removed from some items inappropriate svwiki sitelinks added by others and undone my changes. This is the list of items to which I added cebwiki sitelinks after 2017-07-26-23:59:59. Tabernacle says ~3415 of them have P31/P279. Most of their P31 claims are [China-]geo-related and everything should be OK; several items I fixed now, see my latest contribs. For a few of the touched items (Q10353203, Q10387511, Q18381248, Q9393453) I'm not sure yet to leave them as they are or to restore a previous version; I'll check them again and decide later. On items without P31 I'll look later today also. Also I re-discovered now a few items (Q29083068, Q29083768, Q29083794, Q29098554, Q29098629, Q29105388) mistagged by error with P31:Wikimedia disambiguation page (Q4167410) by others. We should think on how to find the whole series of such items with inappropriate Q4167410 in P31, to fix this mess as well. --XXN, 00:56, 2 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
Ohh, I see. Sorry, I was really tired and thought you were adding both the svwiki and cebwiki links. Thanks for removing the svwiki ones I missed. :) Not changing existing labels when adding sitelinks would be a good idea. I was able to find disambiguation pages with PetScan (e.g. here), but I'm not sure which ones are wrong (maybe there's another category for ones which are disambiguation pages that can be filtered out?). I've also seen some items where the svwiki link is no longer a disambiguation page but the cebwiki still is (in those cases, there's usually another item which has a svwiki link which redirects to the page name which used to be a disambiguation page). I haven't had time to think about the best way for us to fix it though. - Nikki (talk) 07:10, 2 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
I checked all edited items with enwiki sitelinks and corrected few more items by removing bad links and harvested claims. Among the remaining items check now, according petscan there are (were) 257 items with more than 3 or more site links (sv and ceb, + other), and usually there are only 3 links, the third being zh.wiki; and no other claims which attests a mixed item (only P17, P1566, and ocasionally P625). For a few items I just asked a Chinese speaker if he can check if the sv+ceb links are in an appropriate item. For the rest 200+ items without knowing a bit of Chinese I can only hope that Lsj matched correctly the zh.wiki interwiki. XXN, 12:12, 2 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Nikki: Regarding these bad disambiguation claims, your petscan query took too long to execute, and I didn't waited it to end as I thought it might time out, but I saw a common hidden category for these articles, with only 320k pages (petscan query is executed much faster in this case) - sv:Kategori:Wikipedia:Artiklar med geonames-parameter utan P1566 på Wikidata - *articles* with geonames parameter in infoboxes, but without GeoNames ID (P1566) in WD; + selecting those having P31:Q4167410 - petscan shows for me now 5914 results (other items with P31:Q4167410 but with P1566 in WD should appear in Database_reports/Constraint_violations/P1566 or could be found easily via SPARQL). And as you said there are multiple types of mixed items, e.g. 1) Q237768, 2) Q353397, and other types, which makes it more interesting to fix this mess ) XXN, 13:13, 2 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
For the record, I've put the bot to work on them; where was needed it removed bad P31 claim and descriptions, in other cases it just removed inappropriate sv.wp or ceb.wp sitelink(s). XXN, 17:06, 4 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect edit edit

Back on August 5 (alas, I hadn't noticed it earlier), this bot incorrectly moved a link for n:nl:Categorie:Zuid-Amerika from South America (Q18) to Category:South America (Q5610307). Wikinews topic categories are linked to the wikidata item of the associated Wikipedia article, rather than the Wikipedia category, per Wikidata:Wikinews/Development. (There are, I believe, a few other cases where sister-project pages outside mainspace are associated with Wikipedia articles, such as Wikisource author pages.) --Pi zero (talk) 20:33, 14 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Argh. The situation is more tangled than I'd thought. However, by some bizarre sequence of events the link did end up at Category:South America (Q5610307), with the final step taken by the bot. Some adjustment to the bot is presumably called for. --Pi zero (talk) 20:50, 14 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Pi zero: in fact the bot didn't moved the sitelink from South America (Q18), but found a item created specially for n:nl:Categorie:Zuid-Amerika and merged it into Category:South America (Q5610307). I admit this might not be the best choice of the target item for merging, or who knows if the consensus behind guideline is solid enough... On the bot requests page these days was posted a related request which affects wikinews category items. --XXN, 20:59, 14 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
Ah, is that how it happened. Thanks. Also thanks for pointing out the bot request. --Pi zero (talk) 21:40, 14 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

He works on ceb:Kategoriya:Rusya paghimo ni bot (see last thread on his talk page). It would be great if you'll involve as well to help harvesting faster that category; as I said you some time ago, the ru.wiki community wants to have these items ASAP for matching with their articles. --XXN, 22:48, 24 August 2017 (UTC) P.S. wrong fa description edit

Hi! Your bot is adding "یک صفحهٔ ابهام\u200cزدایی در ویکی\u200c" to Wikimedia disambiguation pages [7] which must be "یک صفحهٔ ابهام‌زدایی ویکی‌مدیا". Please fix it and replace all pages with "یک صفحهٔ ابهام\u200cزدایی در ویکی\u200c" in their fa.desc with the correct sentence. Many thanks! --Meisam (talk) 12:13, 15 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Meisam: searching via WD Search returned 6 results with that bad description. I've fixed them manually. In case there are more to fix, just let me know and I can put the bot to work.

--Base (talk) 04:02, 26 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
